MCHS Curriculum Night & Job Fair - Jan. 15, 2020 @ 6:00pm
It is our honor to invite parents and students to the MCHS Curriculum Night and Mayde to Work Youth Job Fair at Mayde Creek High School. This interactive and informational event is for all parents/students who will be attending MCHS next year. This includes all incoming 8th grade students and current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students at MCHS.
Throughout the evening you will have an opportunity to meet teachers, administrators, counselors, and upper-class student mentors. Curriculum Night will include a gallery showcase of clubs/organizations/electives, a counselor Keynote presentation, and multiple-choice sessions for parents and students to select and attend.
Mayde to Work Youth Job Fair will also be taking place during the same night and time for our older students who are interested in finding employment. Students must 16+ and have valid documentation to work in the United States. Preregistration is required, please click the link below if you are interested.

2019 District 19-6A All District Football Team
Cyberpatriot Team Qualifies for State Semifinals
Under the direction of Mr. Ronald Beck, NJROTC Cyberpatriot Team 12-6681 from MCHS has advanced to the semifinal state round of the Cyberpatriot competition for the first time in school history! CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association (AFA) to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. Team members include:

Lady Ram Soccer 2019
The Lady Ram soccer team began with its first two scrimmages of the season. The team is young, but the Lady Rams have nine returning letterman including all-state goalkeeper, sophomore, Kirsten Baxa, all-region forward, junior, Emma Arroyo and all-district junior, Yaisa Reyes, all-district sophomore Alexa Rivera and all district sophomore, Stephanie De La Cruz.
There is a talented group of newcomers that have added to the strength of the varsity squad and the ladies have a determination to be successful.
This is a gifted group of young ladies. They come out and play hard and leave it all on the field. We are excited to see how they progress this season and to surprise teams with our tenacity and speed of play.
In the first two scrimmages for the year, the Lady Ram Soccer team beat Aldine 1-0. (goal scored my Emma Arroyo) and beat Nimitz 8-0 (goals scored by Emma Arroyo (3), Esveidy Fabila (2), Alicia Loera, Lexi Richard, and Alexa Rivera).

Accessing Interim Progress Reports and Report Cards
Secondary students’ first six-week report cards are now official and may be viewed electronically in the Home Access Center (HAC). To view the electronic grade report, please click on the “Grades” icon. Should you need assistance in accessing an electronic grade notification, please complete this form and a member of the technology team will contact you: Parent and Student Technology Support Center.
Proclamation 2020
La Proclamación del 2020 incluye materiales de instrucción para los estudiantes de inglés de los grados 7 a 12, artes del lenguaje en inglésde los grados 9-12, Estadísticas AP y Estadísticas. Estos materiales serán implementados durante el año escolar 2020-2021. Dichos materiales de instrucción, estarán en exhibición y disponibles para los padres y la comunidad en el Complejo de Apoyo Educativo (ESC) del 9 al 16 de enero del 2020 durante horas de oficina (8:00AM-4:00PM). Además, los materiales de instrucción estarán disponibles para revisión, el martes 14 de enero del 2020 y el jueves 16 de enero del 2020 de 5:00 PM a 7:00PM. Parent Training on Behavior Management Strategies and De-escalation Techniques
The Department of Special Education is offering a parent training on Behavior Management Strategies and De-Escalation Techniques which will focus on a foundational understanding of behavior and strategies to de-escalate children in crisis. There are two opportunities from which parents can choose:
- Spring Offering: Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 6:00PM to 7:00PM
Sessions will be held in Training Room #2 at the Jeanne Coleman Student Support Annex (JCSA) located at 4242 S. Mason Road, Katy, TX 77450. Seating is limited and no childcare will be provided. Parents can register by e-mailing Kay Whitham at katherineawhitham@katyisd.org and putting “Parent Behavior Training” in the subject line.

Study Skills Seminar
Katy ISD, Community Education, is sponsoring a seminar offered by Sycamore Learning Company that will help students learn new techniques to study, and how to efficiently manage their time. The seminar will discuss: Study Techniques, Goal Setting, Memorization, Note Taking, Essay Writing, Speed Reading, and Scheduling. The seminar will be offered at Seven Lakes High School, on Saturday, November 16th, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm in the LGI. The cost for this class is $75. Students have access to FREE, personalized SAT practice through Khan Academy. College Board research shows students who spent an average of 20-22 hours with Khan increased their SAT score an average of 115 points. Below is the link for Free SAT practice:

Screenagers - “Screenagers” is a documentary about teenagers and cellphones. This website also has “Tech Talk Tuesdays (TTT)” which you can subscribe to. Subscribe to the TTT to receive conversation starters about social media, video game use, tech tips, latest research and more.
White Ribbon Week - White Ribbon Week is a positive school program presented by volunteers or teachers that helps kids make healthy choices in media and technology. This program is research based and kid tested.
