WRJH Tuesday Update
May 10, 2016
DC Trip Departure and Return Information
Wednesday, May 11, students will need to arrive at WRJHno later than 8:00 a.m. The building will open as early as 7:30 a.m. Students will need a ride to school and will not be able to come on the bus that school day. Please say your goodbyes in the parking lot and have students come into the school gym. Please park in the lot and not in the drop off lane near the building.
Students are expected to return from D.C. Sunday, May 15 at 1:30 a.m. Students will be returning to Livingston High School. Students will be allowed to call home approximately 30 minutes from the school if that time should change.
The DC Weather Forecast continues to change! Make sure you are prepared with a jacket/sweatshirt for cool weather and/or rain!
From Mrs. Slauter, Assistant Principal
As we approach the end of the school year, the staff at WRJH wants to send a few reminders about some issues that have been of concern lately:
ATTENDANCE/TARDIES: Please remember that students are to be in class by 9:20 a.m. Students with excessive tardies to school and/or their class periods are subject to disciplinary consequences. Students who do not show to class or walk out of class are considered truant and will be subject to disciplinary consequences.
- Please remember that electronics (e.g. cell phones, tablets, headphones) in the school are to be used for educational purposes only. If a student is caught using electronics for non-educational purposes, they may be taken by a staff member. The first offense is an end-of-the-day pick up by student. Additional offenses will require a parent pick up.
- Keep in mind that it is students’ responsibility to secure all electronics and personal effects. Students storing their items in a locker want to be sure to secure it with a combination lock. (Locks for gym lockers ARE NOT provided by the school.) Students are also NOT permitted to share lockers; this prevents others having access to their things.
- Teachers are not responsible for “watching” devices that they did not confiscate.
- Lost and/or stolen electronics WILL NOT be investigated by the school.
DRESS CODE: Students are expected to be in dress code daily (e.g. no hoodies, no blue jeans, no shirts without collars). Please review the Student Handbook for the dress code policy.
FOOD: We would like to maintain the cleanliness of the building, and food trash is becoming an increasing problem. All food and drink are to remain in the cafeteria. Students caught with food outside of the cafeteria are subject to disciplinary action.
It is important to us to provide an environment of high academic standards, and the partnership between families and school is crucial in making this happen. Please take a moment to review these expectations with your student. As always, we appreciate your continued support.

The First Lego league will be going to the high school on May 19. Permission slips have been sent home but if you are a member of the Lego League and did not get one, please email Mr. Lefeld at firstname.lastname@example.org for an additional copy.
