GBE Vision Statement:
GBE Students want to be a Champion in:
Attitude, Action, and Academics
Reflection from the Week:
We reviewed Hattie's 8 Mindframes for Effective Teachers and reflected where can we grow and improve. How will that look in my classroom or for my team?
As we move into the work of our PLC on Monday, and back in your classrooms I want you to reflect on this thought.
This is from Kids Deserve It! by Todd Nesloney and Adam Welcome, and speaks to what we are pushing for our Tribe this year as we spark ourselves and our students.
"Innovate! Be Different! Sure, traditions can be an important part of our schools' cultures, but when it comes to learning, using decade-old tactics won't cut it. We can't expect our kids to be growing, learning, and pushing boundaries unless we're doing the same. How dare we ask our students to show up every day and learn if we're not learning and pushing ourselves?"
CLT Focus on Monday
Focus: Begin THE WORK
iReady Information Prior To Testing Window Opening:
- Login Cards are being printed for you. We will have to wait to laminate at this time. We are waiting on film. We will use the Clever Portal for our logins. This will make the task easier with all usernames and passwords being common. At this point wait to send Login Cards home until after we have done our first Diagnostic testing. Vicky and Abby will be putting these in your mailboxes this next week.
- We do not begin testing until September 4th- this is when the iReady Diagnostic Window opens for GBE
- Be sure to show the PPT before testing-this was discussed at the iReady training
- Remember iReady is what we will be using for our SLO's in Math and Reading - more SLO info will follow later
- Share the iReady Login cards with your Sped Teammates
- iReady testing protocols will be sent out and need to be reviewed with class prior-look for email

Reminders and To Do's:
- Keep up the great work of routines and procedures being followed in your classrooms. Students like a sense of organization in the room. We move this next week into our curricular focuses. I have seen some creative ways to combine both needs. Both are essential for solid learning to take place.
- Technology forms - some are still not turned in- starting on Monday we will call home to get parents in to sign or re-send the form. Remember these students are not able to use the technology until we have the form returned.
- Focus on your 4 to 1 ratio for PBS- there are ways to be firm and allow for a positive praise at the same time!
- Review your emergency procedures. Mr. Samuel will be sending out info on our first drills for this next month.
- Complete your requred District Training Videos by the deadlines- email reminders are sent.
- We have had some need for subs- be sure you have this in place and all plans that are needed. Have emergency sub plans in place at all times, and inform your team where these are located.
- Dave sent our the digital copy of the PD Log. Be sure your are keeping your PD hours logged. These are turned in at the end of the year to Dave. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KLexuWgqvFWdKLblvlvci_kwfypsJ14ubXi7s3beu70/edit
