Congratulations to Corley's Teacher of the Year Ms. Houston!
We are proud to announce that Ms. Houston was selected by her peers as the 2019-2020 Corley Elementary Teacher of the Year. Congratulations Ms. Houston, we know you will represent Corley well!
Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) September 9-11
The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) will be given to students in grades 1, 2, and 5 on September 9-11th.
It is a multiple-choice assessment that measures the way students think. It helps teachers determine the best ways to instruct students.
Testing will begin promptly at 9:00 am. Please ensure that your child gets a good night's sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and arrives to school on time!
Read To Achieve Parade and School Wide Cook-Out Reminders
Corley's Annual Read to Achieve Parade and School Wide Cook-Out has been moved to Friday, October 4th at 9:30 AM. NOTE: This is later than originally scheduled due to the extreme heat.
Parents are welcome to attend and line up on the sidewalk outside the school starting at 9:15am. Our parade will end by 10:15. Students will have lunch at their regular class time. Parents will need to go through the visitor check-in process to stay for lunch.
Due to limited seating for the cookout, parents will not be allowed to wait at the tables or in the cookout area until their child's lunch time. If the class time will be 11:15 or later, we suggest parents leave after the parade and return for lunch.
SCHOOL MESSENGER UPDATE (Callouts)
Due to some recent text/call regulation changes by the FCC, Gwinnett County Public Schools is no longer able to use text/call messaging services to distribute information to parents. This includes texts and "robo calls" from GCPS School Messenger as well as third party text reminders like Remind.
At this time, please ensure we have an email address on file that you regularly check. We will use weekly eNews Patriot Post, email, our school website, eClass, Class DoJo as ways to communicate.
