Back-to-School Night Success--Thank You

Thank you to all the parents and students that attended our Back-to-School Nights on Wednesday and Thursday. We hope that our students were able to show the parents around and brag about all the great things that they are going to experience this year at Mayfield. Parents and students were able to spend 40 minutes with the language arts, math, science, and social studies teachers. For the last 20 minutes of Back-to-School School Night the parents and students had the opportunity to visit all the encore teachers.

Feed VA Day 2018

Join Manassas City Public Schools in celebrating Feed VA Day of Action 2018. On September 13th, all students can enjoy a FREE breakfast on us! Just stop by the cafeteria during breakfast hours, and enjoy what Food and Nutrition Services has to offer!

Parents are encouraged to join. Adult meals are $1.80. If parents decide to join, they may eat breakfast in the cafeteria with their child.

Clubs and Activities

We are currently organizing our clubs and activities for the 2018-2019 school year. The first club that will take place at Mayfield is our 6th grade boys basketball club that is sponsored by Mr. Krizmanich. The permission forms for this club were sent home this week with students and they are due back to Mr. Krizmanich as soon as possible.

I will be able to provide a finalized list of all the staff sponsored clubs in next week's newsletter. I want to thank all the staff members who have offered their time, talents, and passion in order to offer a wide variety of club activities to our students at Mayfield Intermediate School.

School Counseling Lessons

Our school counselors have been busy offering lessons to all the classes within Mayfield Intermediate School. The lessons took place during the students' language arts block. The first lessons focused on introducing our counselors and explaining the purpose of the counseling program.
