THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL SCHOOL YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

Congratulations to the Class of 2021 as they graduated under a beautiful sunset last evening at Fife Stadium. Good luck to all of them as we know their futures are bright!!!


We wanted to take a moment to thank every one, students and families, for a wonderful school year. We so appreciated everyone's kindness, patience and understanding as we navigated this difficult year. We hope everyone has a fun and safe Summer!! We look forward to seeing everyone next year for another great school year here at Jackson High School!!!

CONGRATULATIONS BOYS TENNIS TEAM MEMBERS HEADED TO STATES!!!!!!!

Congratulations to our two doubles teams on qualifying to this week's State Tennis Championships! Ryan Kelly and Alvin Altman as well as Arjun Krishnamurthi and Lucas Immel are heading to Mason for the State Tournament! GOOD LUCK!!

MEDICATION PICK-UP IN THE JHS ATTENDANCE OFFICE NO LATER THAN JUNE 3

It’s the end of another school year and all medications in our clinic need to be picked up by a parent or guardian.


  • Students are not permitted take medication home on the bus except for documented epi-pens and asthma inhalers.
  • Please make arrangements to pick up your child’s medication by Thursday, June 3rd in the JHS Attendance Office.
  • The Attendance Office will be open: May 27 & 28, 7:00am-3:00pm and June 1-3, 7:00am-5:00pm.
  • Medications must be picked up from school by a parent or guardian only
  • We will dispose of any medication left in the clinic after June 3rd.

SPORTS PHYSICALS OFFERED AT JHS TODAY

The JHS Athletic Department will offer sports physicals for all athletes in grades 7-12 on Wednesday, May 26 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. Physicals cost $10.00. Cash will be accepted or checks made out to Jackson Local Schools. Students need to download a physical form (click for link), both parent and athlete need to fill out all necessary pages and sign where needed. All physicals will be kept on file in the Athletic Office.


We thank Dr. Dulik and Spectrum Orthopedics for providing this service to our athletes.


Physicals will be in a different location this year. Athletes should enter door 16W and report to the main gym. Athletes will exit 16W when finished.

SUMMER CCP BOOK REQUEST FORM NEEDS FILLED OUT BY JUNE 1

Summer CCP students should use this link to request their Summer CCP Books. This should be filled out by June 1. Mrs. Williams will then email you the correct procedures for getting the books you requested. Please email Mrs. Williams, swilliams@jackson.sparcc.org, with any questions.

FREE FAFSA SUPPORT AT THE YMCA ON JUNE 2

Jackson Local Schools Family Support Specialists are available to assist families with filling out their FAFSA forms. We are hosting a FREE event on Wednesday, June 2 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Paul and Carol David YMCA. Families may register with this link or contact Kathy Yaros at kay2jc@jackson.sparcc.org

JHS TO HOST AN ACT PREP SEMINIAR ON MAY 27TH

Jackson High School will host an ACT preparation seminar on Thursday, May 27th, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., here at the school. Students will learn specific testing & time management strategies to help them score their highest on the ACT—all geared toward increasing their chances for admission & scholarship aid to their colleges of choice. This six-hour session is presented by Next Level Prep, a company known for its subject matter experts in test preparation & college admissions. We highly recommend this seminar, especially for juniors taking the ACT on June 12 or July 17. Because we’re hosting the seminar, the special price for our students is just $79 each, which also includes a comprehensive workbook, online testing access after the seminar, & free call-in tutoring. OHIO IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL INCOMING 12th GRADE STUDENTS FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR

Students entering 12th grade must have a Meningococcal (A, C, Y, W-135) vaccine. If the 1st dose of Meningococcal was administered after the 16th birthday, a second dose is not required. STUDENTS will not be permitted to attend school until proof of these immunizations has been provided to the school or an exemption statement is on file at school. Immunizations may be obtained from your child’s healthcare provider, most local pharmacies, and the Stark County Health Department. Please submit a copy of your child’s immunization or complete an exemption form prior to the first day of school. Please contact Lori Fisher, should you have questions. Initial notifications will be sent home in your students final report card (11th graders). Exclusion from school will take place if correspondence is not received. You may either submit an electronic copy to laf2jc@jackson.sparcc.org, drop off a copy of your child's records to the main/guidance office or mail a copy to me at school. BEAR HUGS: "PURPLE WITH A PURPOSE"

BEAR HUGS is a FREE resource offering clothing, shoes, toys and other household needs, available to Jackson Residents. They have items available for infants through adults. People may set up a private "shopping" time or can take advantage of pop-up open hours, listed on Instagram @jacksonbearhugs. There are no stipulations for proof of need. Bear Hugs is located at 2137 Wales Ave Massillon, OH 44646 across from Meldrum's Restaurant.
