Home of the "Proud Patriots"
The mission of Cedar Grove Elementary is to grow our students into respectful, curious and productive citizens.
March 1st -- Our Next Phase
Thank you to those who attended our Q&A parent sessions...
Below please find additional information regarding phase four:
- Our Next Step (English) - Presentation from Q&A session
- Our Next Step (Spanish) - Presentation from Q&A session
- Alpha HP Fogging Video - Alpha HP is a hydrogen peroxide based cleaner. Watch this video of Mr. Baccello (Head Custodian) and Mr. Clanton (Night Supervisor) demonstrate how the Alpha HP fogger works.
- We will have two types of desk shields in use at Cedar Grove Elementary -- Plain clear lexan as well as white desk shields with a lexan panel. Both these shields will be cleaned using the Alpha HP fogger.
Tips to support our success:
- Please be sure to complete the COVID Health Screening form daily and only send healthy children to school.
- Staying Safe at CGE - This video was shared with our students to remind them of how to navigate the hallways, the importance of hand washing and the proper way to wear a mask.
- Fostering Independence During Morning Drop-Off -- These strategies are recommended by our staff members, Chana Birnbaum, Occupational Therapist, and Jaclyn George, Physical Therapist. We hope these tips help support our littlest "Patriots'" growth.
- If your child eats a snack during their school day, please limit it to a snack that your child can independently open and enjoy within ten minutes.

Kindergarten Registration
Don't Delay!
Kindergarten registration for the 2021-2022 school year is officially open. We strongly encourage all of our families with preschool-age children to visit the registration page of our district website and complete the quick and easy online registration process as soon as possible.
The district is anticipating that next year will usher in a full return to in-person learning. Even if uncertainties remain for your family, we strongly encourage you to register regardless. Claim your child’s spot, their school, and have the peace of mind of knowing your child is in the system and kindergarten ready. Any changes down the road can be handled without a problem.
The registration webpage has been revised to include all resources to assist you with the online process, including video tutorials.
Preschool registration for 2021-2022 will open March 8.

UWMOC Renews Covid Relief Program at Cedar Grove Elementary
The Extended-Day Covid Relief program at Cedar Grove Elementary School served about 50 students this past fall, providing reading and ELA interventions to students most impacted by the lack of in-person instruction during the Covid-19 pandemic. The program, funded by the United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, was a success.
So much so, UWMOC is funding another cycle.
Cedar Grove will host the program again this spring, thanks to $5,000 in grant funding from the local nonprofit.
"The Extended-Day Covid-Relief program at Cedar Grove Elementary School has had a profound impact on our students as well as our parents," said Superintendent Thomas Gialanella. "We are extremely grateful to the United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties for funding another cycle; the program this past fall proved to be a tremendous success, and has provided a model for our entire district when it comes to confronting the learning losses caused by this pandemic.
We are excited and grateful to the UWMOC for this opportunity!
