Final Exams and EOC Milestones
Coming soon! Administered July 9, 2015
Finals and Milestones are coming soon!
Students and Parents,
If you are receiving this email, you are taking a course that requires a Georgia Milestones End of Course assessment (formerly known as End of Course Test or EOCT). This assessment is required by the state of Georgia. For the FY14-15 school year, public school students enrolled in these courses are required to take the EOC assessments to meet the graduation requirement but the grade will NOT count as part of students’ final GAVS course average. All public school students enrolled in the Georgia Milestone EOC courses are required to take a GAVS final exam in addition to the EOC assessments. Homeschooled students are only required to take the GAVS final exam. The final exam will count 20% of students’ final course average. If homeschooled students enroll in a public school after taking the course with GAVS, the school will provide the parents/students with EOC assessment graduation requirements for previously taken courses.
Facilitators of public school students should be registering their students to take the Milestone Assessments. Public school students will take an end-of-course assessment when enrolled in the block (AB) or second semester (B) of following courses:
- Social Studies
- Economics/Business/Free Enterprise
Note: Middle school students (public school) who are enrolled in one or more of these courses (EOC) will also take the end-of-course measure. The end-of-course measures are administered at the completion of the course, regardless of the grade level. These measures serve as the final exam for the course, and contribute 20% to the student’s final course grade.
BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT QUIT NOW! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
