Did you know?

It's time for our younger siblings to walk to class independently. Big brothers and sisters will no longer be allowed to walk students to class. Don't worry, lots of staff will be in the hallways helping all students find their way to class.

Little hands have a hard time juggling backpacks, water bottles, lunch boxes, etc. Please help them out by packing everything in the backpack. Hands will then be free to open doors or carry breakfast.

  • Federal waivers providing free meals for all students the last 2 years have now expired
  • Parents must complete an application for students to be eligible for Free or Reduced meals
  • The online free and reduced application opens July 20, 2022.www.myschoolapps.com


All Austin Elementary students will continue to receive free BREAKFAST!


Breakfast and Lunch menus are updated monthly and can be found on our Austin website under "Food Menus."

Access to Instructional Resources

Furthering the educational partnership between parents and the District and in compliance with SB 3, parents can login to their student’s learning management system (Canvas) and access electronic instructional materials through the SSO. To obtain your student’s login information, log in to Parent Access Center and view your student’s credentials in the section Student Username/Password. Please note that students in grades 7-12 have the ability to change their password. Please check with your child as appropriate.

Viewing Campus Accountability Ratings

Starting on August 15th, you will be able to view the Texas Education Agency rating for our school, plus much more, by visiting TXschools.gov. You will also be able to search for schools using your address and compare our school to others. To learn more about Austin Elementary, your child’s STAAR performance, and how to use this information, please visit TXschools.gov. We’re excited about the start of another great year!

Transportation Tips and Tricks

  • Please remember, students must be in the cafeteria before 7:50 if they need to eat breakfast. Car riders arriving after that time will be directed straight to class.
  • Transportation changes? Send a note or call the front office by 2:00PM.
  • We cannot check students out of school after 2:30PM. After that time they will need to go home as usual.

When bringing birthday treats, please remember they must be left in the front office. The classroom teacher will distribute them at the end of class. If you have questions about what is allowed, please call the front office 936-709-8400.
