the Wildcat Weekly
December 17, 2021
Dear Parents, Guardians, Community Members, and Friends,
This holiday season, as principal of our school, I am both extremely thankful and grateful for our hard-working teachers and staff, for our parents and community members, for our students, and also for the great things that are happening here at Altatmont Creek which we have witnessed so far this year.
This year our PTA’s FundRun raised over $60,000, which is a tribute to the great generosity of all of our donors. Words of appreciation cannot express how thankful and grateful we are for this monetary donation to our PTA, which goes toward helping us achieve our school’s vision of educating the whole child. Thank you to all who gave of both their time and resources to this worthwhile cause which goes to supporting student learning.
Both Trunk or Treat and Winter Wonderland also proved to be a great success. The community event brought our Wildcats together to share in fun and memories. Thank you to everyone who made it possible and for coming out to these wonderful events.
I would like to finish by wishing everyone in our Wildcat Community a Happy Holidays! From our family to yours...wishing you a joyous and safe holiday season!
Sincerely,
Andrea Tapia
Lunch Bunch- WE NEED YOU!!
We need YOU! We are still short-staffed during our lunch time each day and need additional volunteers to make our lunchtime run smoothly. With students both inside and outside eating and often only our custodian, Mr. Patrick, and I in the lunchroom, it makes it very difficult to both supervise and support students. Many times our younger students need support peeling oranges or opening packages and additional volunteers are greatly needed.

In order to volunteer, you will need to complete the Volunteer Clearance forms and show proof of vaccination. The volunteer clearance process can take up to a couple weeks, so if you haven't started the process, please start NOW!
Please complete necessary volunteer clearance forms HERE. You may show proof of vaccination to any staff member in the office.

Thank you in advance for continuing to support our amazing Wildcats!
Forgotten Items
We have seen a HUGE increase in the amount of "forgotten items" parents are bringing after school begins. We would like to limit calling classrooms. Please only bring in items if it is essential to their learning for that day.
If your child forgot a water bottle or food, we will put it on a table with their name on it right outside the MPR. We will not call the classroom.
Staff Spotlight
Universal Free Lunch
"Our Child Nutrition Department is excited to share that all students, regardless of family income, can receive a daily school lunch free of charge for all instructional days in the 2021-22 school year! While a free and reduced lunch application does not apply this year, completing the Alternate Income Form can result in students qualifying for additional benefits such as Pandemic EBT, scholarships for placement exams, and discounted internet service."
