Snacks for State Testing

As the testing session approaches, we are looking for donations for testing snacks. We will be providing all testers with pretzels. Please bring all donations to the front office.

Do you know a talented 7th grader? The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is in search of high-achieving 7th-grade students to apply to this unique five-year, pre-college scholarship. Students selected to be Cooke Young Scholars will receive academic and college counseling, funding for enrichment activities, and the opportunity to join a community of ambitious peers.

6th Grade Students

The 6th-grade counselor Mrs. Perez was visiting Social Studies classrooms on Monday, Feb. 26th (Mr. Burris) and Wednesday, Feb. 28th (Ms. Johnson) to talk about pre-enrollment for 7th grade. Students came home with forms for parents to go over and sign. Forms are due back to Mrs. Perez by Monday, March 6th.


The packet includes explo or elective class sign up, Spanish 1 for 7th graders (for high school credit) information, and Student Aid form.

Spring Sports


Any student wishing to participate in a Spring sport must have a sports physical submitted and all digital forms completed on Rank One (https://normanpublic.rankonesport.com/New/Home.aspx) before they can participate in practice.

8th Grade Guidance and High School Transition

Students all received a guidance lesson regarding high school course selection and progression last week. They also received a packet to bring home and share with parents. Norman North counselors will be at Longfellow on March 8th to help your students input their course selections during their Science class. The Norman North course fair will be held the night before on March 7th from 6:30-8pm.


Please review the Norman North course catalog with your student and select the elective courses they would like to take next year. Please be aware that all freshman students will be enrolled in Honors English and Oklahoma History, math and science selections will be based upon what courses your students are taking in 8th grade. Is this program right for you?

We are holding an informational meeting Tuesday, March 13th from 6:30-7:30pm at the Administrative Services Center, 131 S. Flood Ave.


Parents and Students can hear from current AVID Students regarding how AVID has improved their ability to be successful in school to prepare them for college success.

Reminder concerning deliveries to school

Just a reminder that students may not receive food items delivered to campus unless dropped off by a parent. Order up and Postmates should not be utilized by students while at school.

Upcoming Testing Information

All students will be receiving their Parent Student Teacher Guide for testing next week. The Oklahoma testing window will begin on April 2. More information will be coming for testing schedule.

Testing Proctors Needed!

Longfellow Middle School is looking for test proctors for the 2017- 2018 test season. As a proctor, you will monitor test sessions to ensure that they are administered correctly and that students are on task and following test session rules. All proctors must be 18 years of age and be approved by the Site Principal. If you can help or know someone who can, please fill out the google form. https://tinyurl.com/LMS2018Testing
