Coming: Summer School Registration
Early Summer Greetings District 103 Families!!
What better way to warm up during these winter months than to think about summer school!
Please review the preliminary D103 Summer School offerings and D103 Summer School Schedule in preparation for registration, which opens at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8. Courses are subject to change based on availability of teaching staff.
Below is program information for students in grades kindergarten through seventh:
Enrichment, Intervention, and the Extended School Year (ESY) program, will be held at Daniel Wright Junior High School from Tuesday, June 6, through Thursday, June 29 (No classes Monday, June 19). Summer School includes four 50-minute periods that run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. Classes start at $80.00 each, while some have additional material fees.
The Early Childhood & K/2 IIP will be held at Laura B. Sprague School. This program is specific for students with special needs whose Individual Education Plan team recommends Extended School Year (ESY).
Students must meet the criteria to be eligible for the Extended School Year (ESY) Program, which will be determined by the IEP team. Parents will receive notification if their child is eligible from the Student Services Department prior to registration opening for summer school.
Students must meet the criteria to be eligible for the Math and Reading Intervention Programs. However, Math and Reading Intervention (remedial) courses are open to all students. A formal invitation is not needed for a student to register for one of these intervention courses. However, teachers may encourage a student to attend. Students will pay the same fee for these intervention courses as other summer school classes.
A separate Multilingual (ML) Jumpstart Program will be held in August. ML specialist teachers will share more information regarding the Multilingual Jumpstart Program at a later date. ALL Multilingual students are encouraged to participate in the D103 Enrichment Summer School.
Transportation will be available for an additional one time non-refundable fee of $155.00.
We hope you will consider being a part of the summer program in District 103. Registration opens Wednesday, March 8, at 6:00 p.m. There will be additional information sent out on this day regarding the registration process.
