Congratulations to our winners!!
Pennies for Patients
During the first week of November, we will be doing a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The fundraiser is called "Pennies for Patients". It's amazing how much money we can raise for a good cause just by collecting old change that's around the house or in the car. In the past, we have been able to donate over $1,000. We will have a kick off assembly during lunches on Tuesday 11/1. The class that raises the most money will receive a pizza party. Please visit the following website for more information. I am in the process of setting up our on-line donation page. I will post that information when that is complete. http://www.studentseries.org/participate/elementary-schools/parents-elementary
If you've lost something, check out our lost and found by the gym. With cooler weather approaching, you may need that long, lost coat or jacket soon!
Thank you Signature Countertops!

5th Grade Basketball/Cheerleading Eligibility
Scott County School District 2
Fifth Grade Extra-Curricular Academic Eligibility
The following academic guidelines will apply to all fifth grade students who participate in basketball or cheerleading during the 2016-2017 school year.
Students must maintain passing grades (D or above) in all subjects to be eligible to participate in basketball and/or cheerleading.
Progress reports will be run for participating students on Friday afternoon following lunch. The names of players/cheerleaders who have an “F” in one or more subjects will be reported to the Elementary Athletic Director.
Students WILL be allowed to participate in basketball games.
The AD will notify coaches of players/cheerleaders who are ineligible for the upcoming week.
Ineligible players/cheerleaders WILL NOT be allowed to attend practices or participate in games the following week.
Academically ineligible players/cheerleaders WILL NOT be allowed to participate in practices or games until eligibility requirements are met.
NOTE: Ineligibility is served week to week not game to game. For example, a player who receives a failing grade in math on Friday, November 3rd will be allowed to play on Saturday, November 4th, but he/she cannot practice the following week. The player has no failing grades on Friday, November 11th, but there are no games the following day. Since the player’s eligibility is restored, he/she can practice the week of November 14th AND participate in the game(s) scheduled for Saturday, November 19th. In this case, the player would miss no game time.
Cheerleading Practice Schedule
Kindergarten and First grades are practicing on Fridays only 3:15-4:30Wednesdays and Fridays 3:15-5:00 (all other grades except Mrs. Jennifer Smith's squad)
Mrs. Jennifer Smith's squad will practice from 5:30-6:30 on Thursdays
If there are any cancellations or changes, the coaches with let you know.
All Boys Basketball and Cheerleading teams have been filled. We will not be accepting any additional cheerleaders or basketball players at this time.
K/1st grade games will be played at McClain Hall while the 2nd-5th graders will have games at the middle school. December 3rd will be the only day K/1st will play at the middle school.
REVISED SCHEDULE: Please disregard other schedule

The Weather is CHANGING...
Make sure you are dressed for the weather. If it is cold and you are wearing shorts or do not have a coat, you will not go outside to recess.
-Any medication sent in for a student to take during the school day, including cough drops, requires a consent form to be completed. Sending in a signed parent note is NOT acceptable for the nurse to be able to give medications to your child.
-Prescription medications that must be given during the school day require a consent form that includes the prescribing physician’s signature as well as, the parent/guardian signature.
-Over-the-counter medications (Tylenol, cough drops, etc.) require a consent form that includes the parent/guardian signature.
Both of these consent forms can be found on the Vienna Finley website under the Parent tab. Forms are also available in the school nurses office.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school nurse.
