Continued growth as readers & writers!
We continue to analyze and respond to texts for a variety of purposes. Your children have noticed and named the strategies I use as a reader and have taken up these strategies in partner work and independently. We have been talking our way through our plans for how to respond to a text. Also, we have been monitoring our understanding by noticing new/unknown vocabulary during independent reading. Your child has been documenting these words and using contexts clues to determine the meanings of the words.
Testing Reminders

- be certain your child eats a good breakfast at home or remind your child to eat at school
- send your child to school with HAPPY thoughts and fill the morning with positive language
- if your child is anxious, have your child name the ways he or she has grown as a learner
