Principal's Message

Thank you for your ongoing support as we navigate this school year. As we can not come together as a whole school community for our weekly assemblies we are finding creative ways to stay connected. We are connecting virtually between the gym and classrooms for our assemblies. Although the technology hasn't been perfect it is getting better each week and we have a lot of joy to celebrate.


As students enter through their grade level door each morning we continue to find ways to make the flow smoother. As we work together our hope is to have an efficient process especially as the weather gets cooler.

Orange Shirt Day

Orange Shirt Day began in Williams Lake in 2013 and has since spread to schools across B.C. and Canada. Orange Shirt Day is a day when we honour the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada and learn more about the history of those schools. As a school community we will mark this day on Friday, October 2.

Terry Fox Run Information

Holy Spirit will be having our Terry Fox Run on Wed. Sept. 30, 2020. We will not be gathering as a school or running as a school, however, each teacher will do educational activities in their classrooms and walk/run with their students sometime during the day.

Donations Needed

As a school we continue to support Valeda House. Valeda House provides temporary shelter for homeless women who may face exceptional challenges in finding safe housing. They are in need of girl preemie clothes and diapers. If you are able to donate please send them with your child or drop them off at the front door.


You can also donate directly:

1) Through their website https://signofhope.cssalberta.ca/. There is a 'donate now' option. In the comments box indicate that you want your donation to go to Valeda House.
2) Mail in a cheque made out to Sign of Hope (in the memo put Valeda House)

Student Consent Forms Are due

Please make sure you sign all the consent forms for your student. We need them signed in order to post pictures, go on field trips (or outdoor walks), technology use etc. Your attention to this is greatly appreciated!


Please log on to your PowerSchool account and click on the Student Consent Data out of date box. You can contact Mrs. Posavec at brigittep@eics.ab.ca if you are having problems accessing the forms.

School fees are now active in PowerSchool. We will not be accepting checks or cash this year. Please log into your PowerSchool account to pay for your child's fees by October 30, 2020.


Please note that fees are added throughout the year as field trips are able to occur. Teachers will send home notes when new fees are added to your account.


Yearbooks may also be purchased at this time. They are $25.00 soft cover books. Please add them to your cart. They will have to be paid for in order for the order to be processed and placed. Yearbooks are handed out in the fall of the next school year.

Early Pick Up

If you need to pick your child early for an appointment, please call the office at 780-416-9526 when you get to the front doors and we will call the student from the class room and have them exit by the front doors. Please allow for a bit of extra time when picking students up!


Attendance Codes

Please use the following codes when reporting your child's absent:


Parent Excused-doctor appointments, hockey tournaments, etc.

Flu like symptoms-Fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath

Other Illness or injury- any physical injury
