Engaged in Learning and Contributing to Community:

Every student! Every Family! Everyday!

A message from Mrs. Robertson

It's finally September. Summer is a distant memory, school is in full swing, and for us here at Spring Hill Intermediate, it is time to get down to business. Our staff here at Spring Hill Intermediate have put in a ton of preparation into this year and we could not be more excited about what is in store for your kids! In order for your child to get the most of their experience here, they need to have good attendance even if they are a Virtual Learner. Our campus has a contest each 6 weeks for best attendance. The class in each grade level with the best attendance for the 6 weeks will earn a trip to Sonic for ice cream (Virtual Learners in the winning class will receive an ice cream coupon to Sonic). Our school looks very different this year! Our schedules are different, we are all wearing masks, we are social distancing and practicing extra hand washing and hand sanitizer. I'll be honest, I was pretty worried that this would be difficult for our students. However, our students have really stepped up and are leaders in this new way of learning. They are AMAZING! Our students were so excited to see each other after many months away from each other! Needless to say, our teachers were so very happy to see the students too!! Each day, we face a new challenge with COVID-19, but our students, staff and parents rise to this challenge. I am so proud of everyone! I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our teachers and staff who continue to go over and beyond daily to help our students who are participating in in-school and in-home learning. Our teachers are spending extra hours preparing lessons for our students in both in-school and in-home. Give them a kind word of appreciation when you can! SH Intermediate has come a long way since the in-home learning experience in the spring! We are so fortunate for each student to have their own Chromebook and the use of Google Classroom! Students, staff and parents are growing in this process every day. Keep up the good work!!

Because of COVID-19, lunch guests or visitors will not be allowed on the intermediate campus

We love to have you visit with your child during lunch; however, we will not be allowing visitors on campus until COVID-19 precautions are lifted. Hello Week - September 22-25

The Intermediate campus is participating in Hello Week, September 22-25th this year! Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) is a national, nonprofit organization based in Newtown, Connecticut. SHP is led by several family members whose loved ones were killed in the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook School on December 14, 2012. SHP's sole purpose is to educate and empower parents, schools and community organizations on how to prevent gun violence BEFORE it happens by providing mental health & wellness early-identification and intervention programs. We will teach our students about social isolation, reaching out and helping by saying hello!

Our activities on our campus will include:

Tuesday 9/22 - make their own name tags to wear and learn everyone's name in their homeroom (if they haven't already)

Thursday 9/23- Wear Green!! (Sandy Hook's school color)
