Faculty and Staff Newsletter • November 27, 2017
Faculty Meeting Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
Welcome Back!
"Can't" is not in our vocabulary. It has been replaced with "Yet." So, when your students say, "I can't do it," your reply should be something similar to "You can't do it, yet, but you will."
As the cooler temperatures arrive, please remember that the District has changed our dress code policy to allow hoodies without zippers. The hoods are to remain off inside the building and students are expected to wear a dress code approved shirt under the hoodie.
Please review your student folders and be certain that everything is in order.

2nd Six Weeks Failures
Middle school is a pivotal time for students, for many reasons. Academically, it can set the tone for the remainder of their public schooling. Now is the time to help them make the necessary changes so that they are successful in school. Many of our students do not expect to pass and therefore have a self-fulfilling prophesy. They have a fixed mindset rather than a growth mindset. Let's work together to change this. You can count our your administrative team to help whenever and wherever they can. I know we can count on you!

Discipline Update
PBIS
Teachers of 7th graders, please be a bit more strict on discipline with them. They have been testing our policies and procedures lately so we need to be consistent in our expectations, and consistent in our practices.
Also review your classroom expectations that each class developed together at the beginning of the school year.
