Knightly Update April 11, 2021
Edition Vol 9 Issue 34
Hello. Thank you for your flexibility with last week's schedule due to the AzM2 testing. I appreciate the effort our sophomores put forth on the exam and the arrangements everyone accommodated to get our students to school at the appropriate times. We have one more assessment this month that will impact some grade levels with a late start. On April 20, all juniors need to take the AzSCI (formerly AIMS Science) assessment. Due to the assessment, students in grades 9, 10 and 12 will have a 10:15 late start. Additional information about the AzSCI is included in this week's update. If you have any questions, please contact the administrative office.
Congratulations to all of the students that participated in this year's AZSEF (Arizona Science & Engineering Fair). We had quite a few students place at AZSEF and we were the only school in the state that will be sending two projects to ISEF (International Science & Engineering Fair) in May. You can find out who will be representing ACP and Arizona in our Knights in the Spotlight Section. Great job and good luck!
I hope you have a very nice week. Please contact me if you have any questions. Go, KNIGHTS!
Rob Bickes
Principal

Important COVID-19 Reminders
Please remember students should not come to school if they have any COVID-19 symptoms, have been diagnosed with COVID-19, are waiting for test results, or have been in close contact (within 6 feet of a person with COVID-19 for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period or had physical contact with a person with COVID-19, you need to stay in quarantine at home for 14 days). Parents need to report this to our nurse, Mrs. Hughes.
Governor Doug Ducey released an Executive Order on March 25, 2021 that rescinds previous Executive Orders. However, it does not rescind Executive Order 2020-51 requiring school districts and charter schools to require face coverings through June 30, 2021. It also does not overturn the Emergency Order from Arizona Department of Health Services AZDHS Emergency Measure 2020-04 that specifically requires school districts to have a face-covering policy in place. Based on these orders, mask-wearing remains a requirement by students, staff, vendors and guests at all CUSD facilities.
