American Airlines & IBM Mentorship
The American Airlines and IBM mentors supplement students studies.
They provide additional study in a computer lab format.
Among their goals, are for students to have "hands on" experiences and be ready and able to pass their certification exams.
The mentors will be at Adamson on Fridays, with the exception of District holidays.
In Adamson's weekly schedule, Friday is a "C" Day, with the order of classes being: periods 1, 5, 2, 6, 3, 7, 4, & 8.
There will be occasions where, due to a holiday falling on a Monday, Friday will revert to being an "A" Day, with the order of classes being: periods 1, 2, 3, & 4.

Steering Committee Meeting
PTECH @ Adamson held its monthly Steering Committee Meeting on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 9:00 AM.
Representatives from the Dallas Independent School District (DISD), American Airlines (AA), and Adamson High School (AHS) discussed student grades, professional certifications for students, curricula, internships, field trips and future employment opportunities for our Pathways in Technology Early College High School (PTECH) students.
The next meeting is scheduled on September 28, 2018.
Executive Advisory Board Meeting
The Executive Advisory Board (EAB) met on September 5, 2018 at 3:00 pm.
The Board meets quarterly, every three months.
AA, AHS, DISD, El Centro College, and IBM were represented.
The Board heard from James Barker (AA), Joseph Gonzales (AHS), Patrick Morin (AA), Diana Nunez (AHS), and Dr. Alex Zekulin (AA) on information and data on grades, TSI scores, internships, the Fall retreat at SMU, the Adamson Open House, class schedules, mentoring schedules, certifications, and parent involvement.
The EAB decided to investigate ways in which hardware and connectivity might be available to students so that they could continue their studies at home.
An EAB sub-committee will gather information on the availability of computers and internet service at each student's residence.
The next meeting is scheduled on December 5, 2018.

Mentoring
W.H. Adamson Collegiate Academy P-Tech Early College
W.H. Adamson Collegiate Academy will enable students to explore a wide range of career interests in the field of technology. The curriculum focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) with an emphasis in Computer and Information Technology will challenge students to discover solutions to real-world challenges. Students will have the opportunity to develop the skills and experience to explore and design creative solutions, acquire the communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills that are necessary for success in the 21st century workplace in the field of Information Technology and Computer Support.
Career Pathways in Technology
IT/Computer Information Technology AAS will provide training in Web Application Development.

Personal Computer Support AAS will train students to troubleshoot software and hardware problems.
El Centro College
Through the early college dual credit courses at El Centro College dual credit, all students will earn up to 60 hours of credits towards an associate degree in Technology.

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
PTECH Uniform is
white Collegiate polo w/navy, black, or khaki pants.
Wednesday
PTECH Professional Uniform is
Collegiate blazer or logo cardigan,
navy blue pants (skirt option for girls), white shirt, red tie.
Friday
Students may wear appropriate jeans (no ripped jeans).
