Smartboard as Interactive Tool
This week I was able to capture some pictures of students INTERACTING with the Smartboard. I recognized it served as a reminder to me that the smartboard is intendend for students to interact with and it is not just an overhead projector. As you reflect on your instruction, are you using the Smartboard for interactive purposes. I shared the shepardsoftware link a few weeks ago and these pictures illustrate examples of students interacting at the Smartboard.

School Store: Morning Experience in Kerri Nelson's first grade where students get money practice "buying" things
K-2 Number Sense Checklist Recording Sheet in first grade
Tammy McFarland's students play cards as part of a Morning Experience
Third grader has a gallery walk recording sheet as he responds to a question on fractions.
I have observed quite a few gallery walks to provide students the opportunity to complete work, standing up, moving around, etc.
Reflection: when your students are working, do they have seating/working condition options? Some like to sit, some like to stand, some like to lay down....(this could be the start of a Dr. Seuss book).....
Sandy Hasbrouck uses this word chart for a variety of reasons including using it as an anchor chart for HFW so her students write them accurately.

nice headband :)
please partner with Alex, he has great ideas, he is truly collaborative and does a great deal of pre-planning for the activity and you can probably get him to wear the headband too :)
