How About Them Apples
This Week 🔥☀️🔥
We made it through some hot days this week. On Monday and Tuesday, we stayed inside during lunch/recess to keep cool and hydrated. We enjoyed hanging out together in our parachute fort and listening to new songs on the rug! In general, we are working on sitting at the table and eating more food during snack and lunch.
Speaking of food......we continued with our apple theme. Some activities included matching letters on an apple tree, making trees out of toilet paper rolls and tissue paper, bobbing for apples with tongs, and exploring apple scented play-doh! We also did an activity in which we identified a picture of our face, and then glued ten small apples on top of our head. In addition to talking about apples, we practiced how to hold scissors to snip grass, and sang about big and small objects.
During P.E., we worked on our coordination and motor planning while we went up the stairs and down the slide. With our friends from room 15 and room 4, we took turns while sorting colors and shapes on the iPad. We also played Hi Ho Cheerio, Stop/Go, and Duck Duck Goose. We put bandaids on animals in our doctor/vet dramatic play!
We did great adapting to the change in routine when we had our first fire drill on Wednesday. Some of us were a little scared, but we stayed with our teachers and walked together outside until we got the signal that we could go back into the classroom.
We had a new friend join our Room 17 family this week - Welcome, Max!
