District Achievement Goals
District SLO:
By June of 2017, 80% of students will be in the at or above range on the STAR Reading assessment.
Closing the Gap Goal: By June of 2017, students in special education will show a 60% increase in their benchmarks assessment as evidenced by the STAR Math Assessment.
Instruction Goals:
- Use Learning Targets
- Ask Deep Questions - Level of Questioning
- Be Uncomfortable - take a risk
CURRICULUM - What we want students to learn
- Remember, we are making the shift from what we are teaching to what students need to learn. The focus is on student learning.
- Please continue to align the standards for your content area to several big ideas or Power Standards. We want students to know several concepts at a deep level, instead of many concepts at a surface level.
- Oriole Way Literacy - Do writing opportunities in your classroom align to the Oriole Way? Seek out a School Improvement Team member for ideas on how this could look in your classroom.
- Please consider attending the next EMT technology learning seminar. They are always at 3pm and 4pm in the library.
ASSESSMENT - How we know students are learning
Can kids learn without grading? - Yes; Can they learn without assessment? - Probably not
