The main cause for Down Syndrome is a complete copy of chromosome number 4. There is a 1 in 691 chance of getting it. Down Syndrome is linked to about 50 physical and developmental disabilities. People with Down Syndrome can have upward slanted eyes, flat face, enlarged tongue, and an increased risk of congenital heart defects, respiratory problems, and digestive tract problems. There is no cure for Down Syndrome, but medical improvements have made it possible for people with this syndrome to life longer happier lives. Encouragement is very helpful, also preventing bullying is always helpful.
