Peek At The Week!
Week of 2/10/20
Principal's Message...
Thank you everyone, for a successful day of parent-teacher conferences! I saw lots of families coming and going and I know most of you had back-to-back meetings, which I remember to make for a very draining day!
Lynn, Liz, Mick,Alison and I spent the day looking at and strengthening individual students' tier 3 behavior plans. Thank you to all who were able to stop by the conference room to support. As a team, we will continue this work and begin to invite teachers to the table in efforts to support them through the RTI process. We will be securing substitute coverage to help conduct these RTI meetings. Our goals will be to find the right supports to help our tier 3 students engage with core instruction. Calendar invites for these meetings will be sent soon.
Our data days for MOY will be on 2/11 and 2/13 this week. We will meet in the conference room. We will be discussing academic progress data and attempt to discuss tier 2 behavior data, if needed, as well. Please be sure to bring any behavior data you have on students who are in need of tier 2 interventions. (Our tier 3 students will be discussed with a team, using substitute coverage). If you have any questions regarding our upcoming data days, please reach out.
As a reminder, please continue to review emergency procedures with students. We will need to conduct an obstructed fire drill in the month of February.
We will begin the new lanyard system for pick-ups at dismissal, beginning the week of 2/24. Please be sure all regular dismissal information is updated on our PDES Dismissal Spreadsheet for the 2019-20 SY. Families will need to be sure that authorized release information is updated in SKYWARD. They may do this 3 different ways:
1. Visit the main office and Patti or Teresa will assist.
2. Send in writing (signed and dated) a revised list of authorized releases.
3. Update the information in Skyward, themselves and our office staff will approve.
As with anything new, we may need to adjust/strengthen the process, as we learn a new way of doing things. Please let me know if you have any feedback that could help support or strengthen this new procedure. Our goal is safety and we are trying to make things more efficient and pleasant at the end of the day.
I hope you all enjoy a short week and LOVE your winter break, beginning on Valentine's Day <3
With respect and appreciation,
~Kim
