What's Self Control & Why Does It Matter?

The focus of today's class meeting is self-control. Start by showing students the Self-Control Poster. Read it and talk about Self-Control with them. Then, show them the short video clip above. It's titled Cookiemonster-But Me Wait.


Remind them that Self-Control can help us with more than just saying no to too many unhealthy food choices.

The first video talks about the famous marshmallow experiment from the 60's, and the second video is a newer version of the experiment where you get to watch the kids withhold from the marshmallow. It's worth the watch. :)
