2016-17 Academic Calendar Changes
Here’s a summary of the 2016–2017 calendar changes we’ve made thus far.
Students missed school three days (October 5–7).
First Nine Weeks Testing moves to Oct. 12–14.
First Nine Weeks ends Friday, Oct. 14.
Second Nine Weeks begins Monday, Oct. 17.
Report cards will still go home Thursday, Oct. 20.
Friday, Oct. 21, was supposed to be Parent/Teacher Conferences day and no school for students. Friday, Oct. 21, becomes a full school day for staff and students. Friday, Oct. 21, becomes a severe weather makeup day (for Oct. 5).
Wednesday, December 7, was supposed to be a Collaborative Planning Day and a half day for students. Wednesday, December 7, becomes a full school day for staff and students. This does not recoup a missed day but does recoup some instructional time.
Lexington One continues to discuss what to do about the remaining two days (Oct. 6–7) that students and staff missed, while we wait to hear what the Governor decides about missed days.
Red Ribbon Week
Fall Festival
Please join us for a night of fun for the entire family at our annual Fall Festival on Friday, October 28th from 5pm-8pm at the school! There will be games, pony rides, bucket rides, inflatables, a game truck and carnival rides for the kids that require a wristband for children ages 5 and up. You’ll be able to purchase a pumpkin to take home and carve just in time for trick-or-treating (pumpkin proceeds will go towards Relay for Life). There will also be some new food vendors this year that you won’t want to miss!
You may pre-purchase wristbands:
