Community Engagement: Spotlight on Hunger and Housing!
One Community Partner within this Service Track is Habitat for Humanity. Habitat is a nonprofit organization that brings people together to build homes and hope for low-income families. The Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg has an event coming up on September 19th, from 8:30am - 4:00pm.
This is a very important event, because it helps one of our own. Habitat needs volunteers to help build a home right behind CNU on Shoe Lane for one of our campus Groundskeepers, who has worked for CNU since 2005! Habitat needs 100 volunteers to frame the structure of the home in one day, and if you have construction experience, you could even be a team leader. If you're interested, see our Fall 2015 Engagement Opportunities for more information!
As always, if you know of an opportunity for service that you would like us to advertise in the Weekly emails, please fill out the Service Submission Form!

Here are this week's contestants:
This actor, screenwriter, and comedian was born in Virginia. (Specifically Fairfax-what up Nova) He began his career in 2003 performing improv, and has since then been featured on numerous sitcoms as well as the big screen. Be on the lookout for his new movies coming out within the next couple of years, this guy stays booked but always leaves us laughing!
This Parks and Rec meat lover is also a comedian, writer, and ironically enough a carpenter. After receiving his Bachelor in Fine Arts he went on to co found theater groups and truly find his niche as an actor. Keep your eyes open for his role in a new movie releasing soon A Walk in the Woods. Hmm...already sounds like the perfect part for an outdoors man like Ron.
This British heartthrob not only has a love for acting, but is also an English rapper. Recently, he's had to put his fire mixtapes aside because he landed the lead role in The Transporter: Refueled and soon after will show his bad boy side as a villain in Deadpool . Not only can this guy bring it to the big screen but he can also bring it to the record studio- someone pass me the aux cord, please.
