Student Registration
The Guidance Counselors will be meeting with all students in grades 8-11 to begin the course selection process during Titan Time Seminars & 21st Century Skills starting the week of March 10th. Students are strongly encouraged to wait until their scheduled seminar time to select courses for the 2020-2021 school year.
It is important for all parents and students to be mindful of the following:
- Course selection is NOT first-come, first-serve. There will be no impact on any student’s schedule whether they are the first person to select courses or the last. We are merely collecting numbers to determine how many sections we will need to run of each course. Once this is done the master schedule will be created.
- Selecting the same course multiple times will not increase the chances of getting a course. Instead, it provides misleading numbers of how many sections to run. All duplicate course requests will be deleted.
- Students are strongly encouraged to read the course descriptions prior to selecting a course. All course descriptions are available in PowerSchool under each subject area when students choose their classes. In addition, students are encouraged to read the Program of Studies which is available on the PHS website and is also linked here.
- A full list of Course Electives (listed by grade) is also posted on the PHS website page listed above.
- Students will need their PowerSchool username/password in order to register for courses. The Guidance Counselors will have that information available for any student that needs that information during the seminars.
- Parents and students should review their course selections at home.
The schedule for Scheduling Seminars with the Guidance Counselors is listed below:
- Grade 11 - March 10 - March 13
- Grade 10 - March 19 - March 20
- Grade 9 - March 26 – April 3
- Grade 8 During 21st Century Skills / March 11 – March 18
If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact your child’s Guidance Counselor.
March is “Music In Our Schools Month”!
March is “Music In Our Schools Month”! The Pembroke Music Department will be presenting their annual All-Town concerts to help celebrate “Music In Our Schools Month”.
- All-Band Night, Tuesday, March 10th at 6:30 PM in the PHS Gym. * Ticketed Event*
- All-Choral Night, Wednesday, March 11th at 6:30 PM in the PHS Gym.
- All-String Night, Wednesday, March 17th at 6:30 in the PHS Auditorium
The concerts feature students in grades 3-12 who sing in school chorus or play an instrument in the band or orchestra to perform on the same concert program together. It is a wonderful opportunity for the students and their caregivers to see and hear the breadth of the music program.
*SPECIAL NOTE: Due to audience size capacity in the PHS gym and the number of band students in the district, the All-Band Night concert is a ticketed event. Each band student in grades 5-12 will be given 2 free tickets to the concert for their caregivers. Only audience members presenting these free tickets will be allowed in to view the concert. Band students will be receiving their tickets from their band teacher in class next week to bring home. We apologize in advance that seating is limited for the All-Band Concert.
Tickets are not necessary for the All-Choral Concert or the All-String concert.
