Now that Sunday School is well underway it is time to introduce you to our monthly Sunday School e-newsletter! Around the middle of each month, I will send this flier to your e-mail to keep you up-to-date on Sunday School activities, events coming up, how you can plug into your child's Christian Education program and more. LAST WEEK of Bring a Friend Month

October has been "bring a friend month" and now it's almost over! You have one more week to invite as many friends as possible to join you in Sunday School. The class who has brought the most friends during the past month will receive a prize of their choosing. Haven't heard what your child's prize will be if they win yet? Just ask them :)

100 Point Club

The 100 Point Club has returned to Sunday School once again! Students in grades Preschool – 7th will have the opportunity to earn points based on several behaviors they show each Sunday. Students can earn points through attendance, bringing their Bible, bringing a friend, praying aloud during class, and making respectful decisions. Once a student reaches 100 points they will get their picture taken for the 100 point club wall and receive a prize! Good luck to all of our students this year!

Meals on Wheels Placemats

Every Sunday our students work with their classes on projects that help out someone in need. During the months of September and October we have been busy creating placemats for our area Meals on Wheels, an organization that helps feed those who are shut in or otherwise can't cook for themselves. These placemats will be delivered with their food in hopes of spreading some cheer and providing a reminder of God's love for them. What a simple gesture, but what a blessing they will be!

New Service Project

In November & December we will be hosting a coat drive plus making fleece hats for our local charities. WE COULD USE YOUR HELP! Here’s how: if you have any winter coats that you could donate please bring them with you to Sunday School and drop them off in the community room, or if you can donate fleece we will gladly take as much as we can get in order to make as many hats as possible. Fleece donations must be at least 18 inches wide and 18 inches high, but anything larger will also be greatly appreciated. You can also drop off fleece donations in the office or upstairs in the CE wing at any time. Thank you for your help in supporting our Sunday School students as we support others!

Let's Be Thankful!

To celebrate our Thanksgiving Season, First Presbyterian Church will be putting together a quilt of our blessings. Each family is invited to take home a blank quilt piece, and together, create a picture of that which you are most thankful for. Sign your names and bring those pieces back into the church by Sunday, November 15th so that we can combine everyone's quilt squares together in one large blessings quilt to present at our Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 22nd. You can get squares on the table in front of the large bulletin board in the Narthex. Every family is invited to participate!

Leaf Raking

Fusion & Catalyst (our 3rd - 6th and 7th - 12th grade youth groups) are combining forces and traveling out into the community to help those in need! Bring your rake and meet in the church's Fellowship Hall by noon. We will eat lunch together and from there go out to rake up leaves. We will return to the church by 4pm. See you there!

Jesse Tree

We are hosting a combined Sunday School class for all ages on Sunday, November 29th. Instead of going to your regularly scheduled class, come and join us on this first Sunday in Advent, as we build our own Jesse Tree together, which helps to tell the story of the bible from creation to the Christmas story.

Plan on joining our church family for ADVENTURES on Sunday, December 6th during the 9:30 Sunday School hour in the Fellowship Hall and Great Room. Travel back in time to a simpler Holiday Season as we explore traditions from the “days of yore” with family fun for all ages. In addition to games, crafts and fun events we will once again be promoting the global movement, Advent Conspiracy, by giving you the opportunity to help out those in need this Christmas. Please consider bringing a monetary donation to make toward our local charities and spread the love of the Christmas Season to those who need it most. For more information about Advent Conspiracy visit www.adventconspiracy.org. So bring your family, neighbors, friends and acquaintances as we celebrate with ADVENTURES once again!
