Auditions for the Showcase on Monday, September 26th
The Showcase auditions will be on Monday, September 26th. Fill out the Audition Form which must be signed by a parent or guardian and all your teachers. Click here for the Audition Form. Then Sign up here for an Audition Slot! If you have any questions about what to prepare, please contact Ben Rorabaugh at ben.rorabaugh@gmail.com or Matthew Lloyd at cvarts@gmail.com. They will be happy to help you!
- Singers - prepare a 2-3 minute musical theatre song for your audition. Have sheet music clearly marked. Have a few other songs you are interested in, too. If you want to accompany yourself, please come prepared to play.
- Musicians - if you are interested in playing in the band for The Lightning Thief you must come to THIS audition.
- If you want to perform a Musical Theatre Instrumental song, prepare the piece you are interested in playing.
- If it is a group number you can audition together.
- If you would like to play in the pit (if auditioning for both - you only have to do one audition)
- For the Showcase - just bring your favorite piece of music to play that shows the range of your skills on your instrument. When the line-up is established for the Showcase, we will schedule rehearsals for instrumental ensembles to support each piece, as needed.
- For the Musical - we need a drummer, a bass, and two guitars. We may try to layer in some other instruments. Please bring your favorite piece of music to play that shows the range of your skills on your instrument. You will probably be asked to sight-read as well. Rehearsals will be scheduled based on the band's conflicts and Mr. Rorabaugh's schedule.
- Dancers - prepare a dance to a musical theatre song to perform for us. Please have an accompaniment track to dance to. (If you have any trouble figuring it out, talk to Mrs. Lloyd or email Mr. Rorabaugh.) Have a few other songs you are interested in, too.
- Actors - if you are an actor, but want to grow in your vocal ability, come prepared to sing "Happy Birthday" and we will check your range. We will be doing some group numbers and you can audition to be a part of one of the group numbers.
BAND Auditions for The Lightning Thief!
The Band auditions for The Lightning Thief will be included in the Fall Showcase Auditions. If you play the drums, base guitar, electric guitar or other instruments that we could layer into the band, please look at the Audition information below and join us for auditions on SEPTEMBER 26th!! Tate's Halloween Carnival - Volunteers Needed!
Masquers has the opportunity to make $500 on Friday, October 28th!! Tate's School in Knoxville needs help with their Halloween Carnival. They would like us to supply 20-25 students and a few adults to help run the carnival, and they will then donate $500 to Masquers! So we need you to help! Please RSVP below if you can help!!
The group should meet Friday, 10/28, down in the Tate's Gallery in front of the Ham & Goodies at 4:30 pm. One of the Carnival Chairs for games will meet us down there and walk us up to the barn. They will feed everyone pizza and water and give us our game assignments and instructions. We will then go to our areas in pairs (always 2 kids to a game or inflatable).
Games and food service begin at 5:30. The parents/sponsors will go around to check on them, relieve them to use the restroom or take them more water. The carnival ends at 8:30. They would like us to stay and help "pack up/clean up" as needed.
If there is inclement weather predicted, they will make that decision by Thursday evening or early Friday morning. The rain date is Sunday, 10/30. The carnival will run from 3-6 if it shifts to Sunday, so the team should arrive at Ham & Goodies at 2 pm.
