Governor STEM Competition 2021-2022
“Improving Pennsylvania Through STEM.”
The Governor’s STEM Competition challenges student teams from across the state to research, design, and present a device or project that can make the quality of life better for Pennsylvanians.
The deadline to register is November 19, 2021. All registered teams will advance to the virtual state competition in April 2022.
- Open to students in Grades 9-12 who attend a public or private school, a career and technical education center, or students being homeschooled in Pennsylvania.
- Teams can include up to five students and they must work under the guidance of an approved mentor.
- Each team is provided a $600 stipend to build a prototype of their device or project.
- All important dates, requirements, and other relevant information may be found on the Governor’s STEM Competition website.
Science in Motion
Audience: Middle School and High School Science Educators. Please consider inviting department chairs, instructional coaches, curriculum coordinators, etc. Face-to-Face will be best, but we will be offering a virtual connection link, too.

Act 35 (Assessment of Civic Knowledge) Delay
The district reporting for Act 35 within the Future Ready Comprehensive Planning Portal (FRCPP) was October 1, 2021. Due to technical difficulties, districts are not able to access yet. PDE will inform us when this function is ready.
District has until December 1, 2021 to report Act 35 information.

Educator Effectiveness Act 48 courses have been updated to reflect Act 13. Educators may register for these courses regardless of prior enrollment. View additional details here.
