Mathematician's Corner
As mathematicians we have been using and understanding all things Place Value. The second half of Chapter 1 focused on the role place value plays in decimals, comparing decimals, and ordering whole numbers/decimals. We also worked together to understand how to solve word problems using the 4 Step Plan. As mathematicians the 4 steps we used to problem solve are Understanding the Problem, Creating a Plan, Solving the Problem, and then Checking the Problem.
Next week we will begin Chapter 2. Chapter 2 is centered around multiplying whole numbers. We will begin by understanding prime factorization, and powers/exponents.
Here are some math websites that students can practice and use at home. Usernames and Passwords should be written down inside of agendas.

- Indicator: 5.E.3A.1 Construct explanations of how different landforms and surface features result from the location and movement of water on Earth’s surface through watersheds (drainage basins) and rivers.
