The First Flown Plane
By: Mary Feldmann
What Happened in the Past
The Wright Brothers were two American brothers and inventors that flew the first powered airplane at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina on December 17, 1903. They invented and built the world's first successful airplane and making the first controlled, powered and sustained heavier-than-air human flight.
How Has The World Changed
The world has changed since then because planes are more efficient and better. The first plane had no rooftop and no passengers, but the planes now still have the same idea as the first flown plane.
Early Years
Orville Wright was born on August 19, 1871. His brother Wilbur Wright was born on April 16, 1867. They were both into the same things, like doing experiments all through their life.
Cool Fact
When the Wright brothers were kids their father bought them a toy helicopter. Then when the helicopter broke they built their selves a new one made with paper, bamboo a wooden cork with a rubber band to twirl its roter.
