CCHS - PTO
JANUARY NEWSLETTER
Principal's Corner
I am elated to report that we are well underway in updating our school! Our ceilings have been installed and all the painting has been done. We still want to paint a stripe down the walls and the lockers still need to be painted. We would like to have this completed by Spring Break. We would like to paint the classrooms in the future as well. The school looks like a new school on the inside. We are so excited!
Our boys and girls basketball teams are having a good year as we are gearing up for the playoffs. Our spring sports are just around the corner. They begin in a couple of weeks.
One last thing, don't forget "Open Door Wednesday". Our next date is February 7th from 8-9 am. I know it's a busy time of the year, however, we would love it if you could come out and support our teachers and students. We only have two left! Thank you parents for all you do for CCHS.
Go Tigers,
Ron Pinson
YEAR IN REVIEW
Duty Free Lunch
Our parent volunteers hosted a "duty free" lunch for all of our amazing CCHS teachers in November. We received lots of positive feedback and look forward to further serving our teachers this upcoming semester!
Bathroom Make-Over
Our PTO moms (and students) worked hard to complete our first outreach project over the Thanksgiving holiday. It was such a fun surprise for our students to discover the front restroom had received a "happy facelift". Inspirational quotes were placed on the bathroom stall doors and walls, serving as encouragement for students to stay positive, believe in themselves and never give up.
Christmas Breakfast for Teachers
Congratulations to Chilton County High School senior Shelby Argo!! Shelby won first place in our PTO sponsored Christmas Writing Contest for her essay, “What Christmas Means to Me.” As part of her prize package, she was awarded a season pass to the remaining basketball games, including the upcoming tournament, a $25 gift card sponsored by Renee Green of Edward Jones and publication of her essay in The Clanton Advertiser.
The PTO would like to thank Principal Ron Pinson and the administration at Chilton County High School for their support of this effort, Mrs. Renee Green of Edward Jones for her sponsorship of the first place prize package, Mrs. Jennifer Blencowe for serving on our panel of judges and The Clanton Advertiser for their support of young writers through publication.
You can read Shelby’s essay online now at the link below.
Congratulations Shelby!

CHECK OUT OUR PROGRESS!
Thanks to the efforts of Career Preparedness teacher Kayla Cantley, CCHS received a $25,000 grant to make much needed improvements to the interior of the school. Work began over the Christmas holiday to drop the ceilings in the hallways to cover exposed piping and wiring and increase and improve lighting throughout the hallways. We would love to invite you to see the improvements at our next Open Door Wednesday, scheduled for February 7, from 8:00-9:00 a.m.
WE LOVE OUR SPONSORS!
Thanks to our many sponsors who partnered with us during the first half of the year. Because of your generous sponsorship, you helped make our outreach projects a success. We couldn’t do it without you! The PTO offers our heartfelt thanks to the following sponsors:
Herff Jones, Provider of educational recognition and achievement products: Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Herff Jones, our PTO was able to provide the teachers, staff and administration of CCHS a Christmas breakfast catered by Barbara Minor of Country Lane Too Catering.
Renee Green, Financial Advisor with Edward Jones: Mrs. Green generously donated to our PTO sponsored writing contest. She provided a gift card, which was included in the first place prize package.
Mack Bingham, CEO of Advanced Technological Solutions: Mr. Bingham provided financial sponsorship for our bathroom makeovers. His generous donation allowed us to hang several new mirrors in the girl’s bathroom and place inspirational quotes on the stalls of both the boys and girls bathrooms.
Kirsten Hines, Sophomore at CCHS: Inspired by our bathroom makeover project, Kirsten donated her time to make all of the inspirational quotes for the boys bathroom. We appreciate her dedication and commitment to making her school a better place for all students!
We would also like to extend a special THANK YOU to Tim Williams for volunteering his time to hang the new mirrors and remove old graffiti from the bathroom stall doors as part of our bathroom makeovers.
We appreciate each of our sponsors and greatly value their partnership with our school. If you are interested in sponsoring an upcoming outreach project, please contact Kimberly Williams at kimberly.mcadam.williams@gmail.com or Chanel Bingham at chanel.c.bingham@gmail.com.
