Welcome Back
School Communication
We communicate in a variety of ways. The Falcon Flyer is the easiest way to stay “in the know.” You will receive it via School Messenger every two weeks. School Messenger is the district's mass notification system. If you are not enrolled, please click http://www.cfisd.net/en/parents-students/contacts-communications/schoolmessenger/ to sign up. We also post it to Twitter @CFISDFarney and post to Farney PTO's Facebook page. This year our mascot, Francine the Falcon, has started her own Instagram page. Simply follow francinethefalcon on Instagram.
Each teacher has their own website which is updated every two weeks. Updates might include, weekly classroom news, homework links etc. You can access their website through our campus site or by clicking the following link https://app.cfisd.net/urlcap/campus_list_135.html.
Teachers send home weekly folders which include student work and a communication card each Friday. Please sign the card and return the folder to school each Monday.
Z-Pass
Did you know you can receive information about when your child enters and exits the bus? Go to zpassplus.com to access the parent portal and sign up for notifications.
CFISD App
There is a great app for our district. Simply download it and follow the schools your children attend. With a click of a button you can see grades through the Home Access Center, check out the lunch menu, or contact your child's teacher.
Awesome Volunteers
We had over 39 SUPER volunteers the first day of school. Thanks to everyone who helped our students have an amazing first day!
Reserved Parking
The reserved parking spaces at the front of the school are reserved for Farney staff members who frequently leave from and/or return to the building during the school day. Please do not park in these spaces before school, after school, or during the day. For your convenience, we ask all other staff members to use the back parking lot so that there are dozens of visitor spots available to you in the front of the school. We appreciate your cooperation.Upcoming Events

Emergency Drill Day - September 19th
On the morning of September 19th, we will be practicing several different emergency scenarios. In addition to monthly fire drills, we are required by our district to practice four different crisis drills. On Monday, September 19th, we will be practicing the following drills: lock-down, shelter in place, secure the building and a reverse evacuation.
Student safety is a top priority at Farney Elementary. Our goal for performing the drills is to provide our students and staff with knowledge about possible emergency situations and to make sure they are familiar with our campus procedures. We will assure students that there is no actual emergency.
If you are planning a visit to Farney the morning of September 19th, you may experience delays as all staff members are involved in the drills. We hope to have our practice completed by 10:00 a.m. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Character Education September Theme
Our theme for the month of September is RESPONSIBILITY. Responsibility is proving that you can be trusted with what is expected of you. Talk with your children to discuss things they can do at home to show responsibility.
WATCH D.O.G.S.
Our Watch Dog program consists of Dads or Father Figures of Great Students who volunteer one day at their child’s school. They will perform a variety of tasks including assisting with the car line in the morning, eating lunch with their child, monitoring the cafeteria and helping in their child’s classroom. Please contact dhara.desai@cfisd.net if you are interested in participating. We will be sending out a sign-up link the week of September 19th with the volunteering beginning in October. We look forward to your participation and hope to see many dads at Farney Elementary!
