SJCS Family Newsletter
September 2022
There is just something about September that allows me to settle in and hit my stride a little better. Yes, it is still insanely hot and humid outside, but I love sipping on a good ol' Pumpkin Spice Latte as I find my routines and structure again.
I think about what this season brings at the start of a school year - the seeds we are planting - and also towards the end of a liturgical year - reminiscent of the eternal harvest of heaven. I am thankful for both types of seasons - the planting and the harvesting - because they are a reminder for me to turn to God in prayer and give thanks for the both beginnings and the endings.
I pray that you are able to find your pace, your comfort, and your routine (and maybe even a special coffee here and there). And, that all the while, you are able to find peace in the vineyard that we get to share together.
If there is anything that I specifically can pray for you or your family, please let me know as I will take those intentions with me to adoration.
God bless & Go Eagles!
Mrs. Mishler
30th Anniversary of Perpetual Adoration
Our elementary students will spend a few minutes in Adoration that day after the normal 8:15am Mass. Secondary students will get to experience Adoration at Christ the Good Shepherd Chapel during Advocate.
Parents and families are invited to join us for this time of prayer. Everyone is encouraged to stop by the adoration chapel that day to spend some time with Jesus to thank Him for the amazing love that he pours out to us, especially in adoration.
Later this year we will prepare students for adoration and take them to the chapel to experience longer times of prayer appropriate to their age.

Box Tops for Education
SJS needs your Box Tops! If you still have traditional (unexpired) clipped Box Tops, please bring them to the front office at each campus.
Box Tops for Education has upgraded their collection method to automatically apply earnings to our school. Here’s how you can help.
- Download the FREE Box Tops app on your phone.
- Register for an account and choose St. Joseph as your school (SJS ID is 203716).
- To submit a paper receipt, log in to the app, click “Scan,” and it will direct you how to take a photo of the receipt. Make sure you get the entire receipt, including the date. If it is long, you can take multiple photos.
- To submit an email receipt, forward your email receipt to receipts@boxtops4education.com using the same email that’s associated with your Box Tops account.
- Receipt must be submitted within 14 days of purchase to receive Box Top credits.
MAP Growth Testing
Students in grades K-8 will take MAP Growth three times throughout the school year. Our fall testing will be during the week of September 19th. During this week please try to limit absences and leaving early if possible. Students should get a good nights rest, eat a good breakfast and arrive to school on time. Once testing is complete, parents will receive a family report with results from the assessment.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email your child's teacher or Mrs. Kleiber at akleiber@stjosephbcs.org.
