Emergency Form/Impact Aid Survey Form
This is a reminder to go online to the Home Access Center (http://www.smcps.org/hac) and complete your Emergency Contact / Impact Aid Survey by Friday, December 18, 2020.
Each year we ask all parents to update their contact information on the Emergency Information Form and complete the Federal Impact Aid form. St. Mary's County Public School System is entitled to receive funds from the federal government for the operation of schools. The funding is based on an accurate count of students whose parents or guardians work on federal property. All of the information collected is strictly confidential. Please take time to access and complete the combined form, which can be located online in the Home Access Center(HAC), where directions to access the online form are provided for your convenience.
Should you have any questions regarding this form, please contact Brenda Laney directly at bllaney@smcps.org. Mrs. Laney will also be available in the main office by APPOINTMENT ONLY if you would like to come by the school and receive assistance.
If you have already completed the form, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Thank you for your cooperation with this important task to ensure we have updated contact information and gain the maximum funds for your child’s education.
Our Raiders know RESPECT! C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S to the following students who were recognized by their teachers as being shining examples of the Raider STRONG Quality of the month: RESPECT!
SAT / ACT
Community spread of COVID 19 has continued to increase over the past three weeks with record numbers of new cases each week. St. Mary’s County posted 262 new COVID 19 cases last week alone. This is coupled with a positivity rate for those tested that has reached double digits - far exceeding the threshold set by Governor Hogan and State Superintendent of Schools Salmon to be acceptable to conduct in-person instruction.
In response to this escalating data, we must all commit ourselves to minimize exposure and risk. SMCPS will be doing this by cancelling the SAT administration that was tentatively scheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2020. In addition, the ACT scheduled for December 12, 2020, is also canceled.
Students will be provided the opportunity to take the SAT free of charge on March 24, 2021, as part of the SAT School Day. Additional information will be provided to students in early March 2021 as to the registration process for the administration. There is no action required by the student unless they paid for the essay portion of the SAT. (waiting on direction from the College Board).
Additional updates will be provided as soon as they are available. If you have questions regarding the SAT administration updates please contact your school’s College and Career Liaison.
