THURSDAY & FRIDAY: 5E & HMH Resource Sessions
Need extra help diving into the HMH Resources? Would you like to learn more about how to incorporate a 5E x 5E model in your science classrooms? Are your teachers struggling to use the new adopted materials? We will work in our sessions to examine the HMH resources and see how individual activities from the resource align with our TEI Domain 1 Rubric.
This will be a working session and you should bring the following materials:
1. Charged Laptop, IPad, or tech device
2. Teacher Edition of your high needs Grade Level
3. Any other HMH resources that you have questions on
a. Assessment Guide
b. Inquiry Flip Charts
c. Lab Manuals
4. Your CIC HMH login. Please call Think Central at 1-800-419-3900 to set up your admin account.
5. A smile! :)
If you can only show up for a brief period of time, please still feel free to swing by to talk about the materials! I will be on these campuses all day.

SATURDAY: HMH Science Curriculum Training with T&L
HMH Science Curriculum Training Description:
In order to teach to the level of rigor expected in the TEKS/SEs and to develop more effective aligned [LOs, MRS, PAI, DOLs, Differentiated Instruction, and Scaffolding], during this session participants will navigate through the print and online components of the newly adopted instructional materials. Participants will also discuss aligning instruction with scaffolding and differentiation strategies.
SATURDAY: Just In Time - 2nd 6 weeks Science
Just In Time Training Description:
In order to understand the TEKS/SEs and be prepared for the upcoming six-weeks, participants will collaborate to unpack those standards. They will discuss RtI and differentiation strategies for each standard or bundle of standards. All of this will be used to plan ways to scaffold instruction, increase student-engagement levels, and develop purposeful, aligned instruction (PAI), with the goal of every student achieving success in the upcoming six-weeks. *Upcoming six-weeks standards are determined by looking at the district document, the Year-at-a-Glance (YAG) which you can access if you bring your own laptop*
NEXT WEEK: 5th Grade Division 1 PLC for CICs & Teachers
Division 1 Science is proud to announce our first Division 1, 5th Grade Science PLC of the year! This PLC session is for 5th grade teachers and their coaches and will be focused on Effective Notebooking, 2nd Six Weeks Curriculum, and Working with Process Skills.
Let's elevate our 5th graders by encouraging our 5th grade teachers to participate in this PD and build a community of science learners across the division.
To ensure space and materials, it is very important to have all CICs and teachers that will attend register by emailing amahoney@dallasisd.org by Sept. 22nd.
