Our next APTT meeting is January 21st

Please mark your calendar for our next APTT meeting on Thursday, January 21st, at 5:30. We will go over our first APTT goal of counting to 100. I will introduce a new skill and ways you can help your child attain this goal at home.

Kindergarten Bake Sale

Many thank yous go out to the mothers and grandmothers of: Wryson, Valerie, Jackson, Austin for donating Bake Sale items. We now have a lot of goodies our student can purchase for snacks. Each item is .50.


Please remember every penny earned through this Bake Sale goes back into the classroom for computer programs, iPad apps, and supplies. So, Please support our Bake Sale!

New Reading Test

As we finish up our first semester, our students are starting to become independent readers. To assess this independence, the student will be required to do a "cold" read on grade level words. A "cold" read consist of reading words that have not been previously practiced.


To help you child become successful readers, please continue to practice the Saxon Reading List that is sent home every Monday.

The End of the Semester is 10 Days Away!!

I know this is a very exciting time for you and your family, but before the Christmas break, there are over 40 Standards that I must do final assessments on. In order for your child to work at their utmost potential please:


  • Make sure they come to school on time every day.
  • They do their homework every night.
  • They get a good nights sleep.



We have a lot to do over the next 10 days!

Homework

Letter Recognition: (Upper & Lower Case)

  • all letters of the alphabet -Only if your child has not passed this test yet

Sight Words/Spelling Words:

  • with, all, ate, two, at, good, red, run, three

Writing:

  • Writing sentences using Sight Words

Reading:

Math:

  • APTT Homework counting to 30 or 60 or 100; by 1s & 10s


NOTE: I will send Math Homework home on Monday, not Thursday, that way you can work on it all week. I will assess rote counting on Fridays. Please use the resources I introduced at the APTT meeting. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me
