Principal's Message
June 12, 2020
Happy Friday Willink Families,
I continue to hope that you are all healthy as we officially end the school year for students on Monday, June 15th. It was bittersweet to see so many students this week as they came in for locker cleanout. I hope to see our Willink Titans back in the halls in September and wish our 8th graders the best of luck as they continue on into high school.
Speaking of our 8th graders... thank you to the over 250 people who responded that you can participate in our 8th grade send-off next Thursday, 6/18 between 4-5 PM in the Willink Bus Loop (Please see the map below for the parade route). And you can certainly join the drive-through procession even if you did not complete the form.
As a reminder, this will be a drive-through event. Students and parents need to remain in your car but we can't wait to wave and cheer you on next Thursday.
To help manage the traffic for everyone, we're asking that you follow these time guidelines to the best of your ability:
Red House Students 4:00-4:20
Green House Students 4:20-4:40
Blue House Students 4:40-5:00
If you have any essential items left at Willink, were unable to pick up or would like to purchase a yearbook, or have any other emergency needs, please contact the main office at 670-1030. To accommodate cleaning needs, our custodial staff will need to begin disposing and recycling of any items still remaining in lockers starting next week.
And finally, I'm happy to be able to recognize the outstanding academic achievement of so many of our 8th graders who will be receiving award certificates in the mail this week. Our Bronze Award is given to students who have made high honor roll with distinction for 4 marking periods. Silver recipients have achieved this for 8 marking periods and Gold recipients all 10 marking periods while at Willink Middle School. Your effort and achievement make us all proud and I'm sure these habits of mind will serve you well as you go onto high school and beyond!
Look for updates from me again next week as we wind down our last week with students and staff.
Take care,
Brian
