ATCU’s Anniston Branch is proud to present Lauri Elam, 9th & 11th Grade History Teacher at Jacksonville High School as our April Teacher of the Month for the Calhoun County area, in partnership with 979WVOK !
Lauri realized she wanted to become a teacher when she was inspired and influence by her college history professor’s ability to make History “come alive” in the classroom. She has served andtaught in her community for 28 years and has found great joy in further inspiring her students to have a love for history. She enjoys working with teenagers and seeing how they connect events of the past with today’s events then seeing how they relate.
Lauri believes that even after 28 years in a career field that one can bring enthusiasm and passion for their profession on a daily basis. She is happy to be teaching where she is planted and is thankful for the opportunity to impact students lives all these years.
Congratulations, Lauri, and thank you for all you do for the future of our communities!
