The 2022-23 School Year Calendar is available to assist you in planning for our next school year.
SMCHS Prospective Students
2022-2023 SMCS Registration
2022-23 tuition and grant information can be found at: https://smcatholicschools.org/admissions/registration/ Please reach out to Shelley Wautlet for information on tuition assistance and the Wisconsin School Choice Program (WPCP).
Current SMCS students will be automatically enrolled for 2022-23. If your child(ren) currently attends SMCS and will return next year, you do not need to do anything for registration. If your child(ren) will not return to SMCS for the 2022-23 school year, please contact Martha Barraza by March 31, if possible. Please reach out if you are still in the decision-making process for 2022-23.
If you have a child who will be starting at SMCS for the first time in 2022-23, please log in to your account (https://smcatholicschools.myschoolapp.com/app/#login) and begin the registration process for that child. When you log in, you should see the following:
Zephyrs Gold Raffle Tickets
The youngest child in each family was given an envelope this week that contains eight Zephyrs Gold Raffle Tickets. These tickets can be purchased by you or sold. The $200 returned with ticket stubs will satisfy the required fundraising fee. This is the only fundraiser that offsets the fundraising fee applied to our K-12 families tuition bill. The raffle tickets offer chances to win up to $2,000! in cash! All stubs, money and unused tickets must be returned to the school office by February 25. Please email Chris Decker with questions.
Winter Sports Update
The Boys Basketball Team is 11-7 overall and 8-5 in the Big East Conference North (3rd place).
The Girls Basketball Team is 18-1 overall and 13-1 in the Big East Conference North (1st place). The team is currently ranked sixth in the state in division four.
The Powerlifting Team's next meet is at Neenah High School on February 5.
The Dance Team next performance is at halftime of the of the boys basketball game on Friday, February 18.
Volunteers are needed for our upcoming home high school basketball games and ZBC Middle School Tournaments. The SMC Booster Club receives the proceeds from concessions at the ZBC tournaments. Please sign up! High School Winter Sport Volunteer Sign Up
Volunteers Needed--A Night to Remember
SMCS Ski Club
SMCS has partnered with Nordic Mountain to create one registration link for all five of our campuses to downhill ski and snowboard together. This is the same link and process that was used last year with our the SMCHS Ski Club. Transportation is not provided for these trips. Skiers and snowboarders will get a RFID lift ticket card that can be reloaded for each visit. View Daily Lunch Menus
We are excited to offer MealViewer, an online menu service that provides a quick and easy way to view daily lunch menus. MealViewer is convenient using your smartphone. It allows you to create profiles for your students, select their allergens and receive alerts each time that allergen is on the menu. Students can save favorites and rate meals.

- Create a profile for you and your students by first selecting their school.
- Set up your student’s profile by selecting the appropriate allergens and let them favorite their most loved meals and receive notifications every time any of these are served!

Medical Mentoring
We regret to inform you that the Medical Mentoring program will not be held this summer.
Grade 10 Career Expo on March 9
Sophomores will be attending the Future Fox Cities Career Expo the morning of Wednesday, March 9. Permission slips will be sent home with students and emailed to parents/guardians.
Grade 11 ACT Test March 8
Juniors who have pre-registered will be taking the ACT test at the Boys & Girls Club of Menasha on Tuesday, March 8. Details will be sent to students who will be testing that day and their parents/guardians.
K-12 Scholarships for Music/Art Lessons
The Les and Dar Stumpf Youth Arts Scholarship provides financial assistance to students interested in an art discipline. Applications are due April 1. Click here for details.
Wisconsin High School Business Model Competition
Students in grades 10-12 are invited to compete in the Wisconsin High School Business Model Competition where students, or teams of up to 3, can present an idea or solution for a problem that could lead to a business. Wyoming Catholic College Reception
Join Bishop Ricken and Dr. Glenn Arbery for “Greatness in the Rough: Rediscovering Classical Heroism” on Friday, February 18 from 6-9pm at The Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help as they explore the ancient virtues of classical heroism and discuss their relevance to our modern society. Marian University Learn While You Earn
Students in grades 9-12 are invited to attend VIRTUAL pre-college courses to learn more about specific careers while earning college credit. Cost is $50 per course; 1 credit earned per course (on a Marian, or other college, transcript only). Participants will receive a $500 scholarship to Marian for each course completed. College Planning Event
The University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh is hosting “College Planning 101” to help students and families navigate the process of choosing a college, regardless of whether they are considering UWO. Seniors will have the opportunity to apply to UWO and receive an admissions decision that day; the essay requirement and application fee will be waived for those who do. The event will be held on Saturday, February 5, from 9am – 12:30pm. Register here.

UW System ACT/SAT Updates
As of December 10th, an extension was approved for the temporary suspension of the requirement for freshman applicants to provide an ACT or SAT score for admissions review. The extension goes through the 2024-2025 academic year.
Budgeting and Financial Aid
UW HELP is hosting a Budgeting & Financial Aid presentation featuring special guest speakers from UW campuses and Summit Credit Union on Wednesday, January 19th at 3:45 PM. This is a great opportunity to learn more about budgeting, the financial aid process, how to compare financial aid offers, and more! Click here to register (required).
Spring 2022 College Fairs
- Xavier High School - In-person college fair at Xavier High School on Tuesday, March 8 from 6pm - 8:30pm.
- National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) is hosting virtual college fairs February 8 (Performing & Visual Arts), February 15, February 24 (STEM), April 3, April 12, and April 26.
- Wisconsin Education Fairs (WEF) are hosting in-person and virtual fairs March 2-April 27. Register and find details here.
NWTC Engineering Open House
On February 22 from 4pm–7pm, Northeast Wisconsin technical College is hosting their Engineering Open House featuring 17+ career choices related to Engineering degrees, employers that hire engineering/technology graduates, demonstrations and other colleges and transfer options. Tech Savvy for 9th Grade Girls
Tech Savvy is a one-day conference on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at UWO Fox Cities, designed to give sixth to ninth grade girls and their parents an opportunity to experience firsthand how science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields can lead to exciting careers. Law Enforcement Career Academy
Current juniors or seniors who are interested in a career in law enforcement related career may apply for the Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy (WALLECA). This is a 6-day program held at the Wisconsin State Patrol academy at Ft. McCoy July 24 – 29, 2022. There is no cost to students to attend. Apply here by March 25, 2022.
FABTECH Open House
FABTECH is an affordably priced, accredited technical diploma series of courses which are focused on developing entry-level technicians in the construction equipment, engine, and electric power-generation fields. They are hosting an open house on Thursday, February 24 from 9am – 3pm. Register here.
FREE FAFSA Thursdays at FVTC
Students and their parents can receive help completing the 2021-22 and 2022-23 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at the Appleton FVTC Campus in room G149. Drop in sessions are on Thursdays from 9:30am-10:30am, 11:30am-12:30pm, 2:30pm-3:30pm and 4:30pm-6:00 pm.
ZAPS ACT Test Prep
The ZAPS ACT Test Prep Seminar will be held from 9:00am – 3:00pm at Oshkosh West High School on February 19, 2022. The cost is $99. Click here for details and to register.
