# Chapter 2

## Prerequisite Skills

• PS 1 - Add/subtract integers
• PS 2 - Multiply/divide integers
• PS 3 - Know the difference
• PS 8 - Know the parts of the coordinate plane
• PS 9 - Graph points in the coordinate plane
• PS 10 - Identify points graphed in the coordinate plane
• PS 11-14 - Solve equations

So if you know you're a bit 'light' in any of those, come see me.

## What you need to do...

For chapter 2, you need to 'Turn in' some evidence of having watched each video. Each section in the textbook (ie: 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc.) may have multiple videos. They will be numbered like the following examples:

Section 2.1 has three videos, so they're numbered 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.3

Section 2.2 has four videos, so they're numbered 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.2.3, 2.2.4

You can either turn in the assignment once, answering at least as many recap questions as there are sections, or you can turn in each one separately.

My goal is to keep the videos under 7 or 8 minutes. I break where it makes sense topic wise.

## Sample of what to turn in:

If the question was:

• What are the five types of real numbers?

Then I'd expect the answer to be something like:

• The five types of real numbers are natural, whole, integers, rational, and irrational numbers.

If the question was:

• What does it mean to solve an equation of formula for a variable?

Then I'd expect the answer to be something like:

• Solving an equation or formula for a variable means to isolate that variable on one side of the equal sign.

See how the question is IN the answer? Someone ask your english teacher if there's a better way to describe that.
