Breakfast/Lunch
Breakfast and Lunch are FREE for all students!
Note: No forms need to be completed to receive free breakfast or lunch HOWEVER if you need fees waived you must complete the Free and Reduced Lunch Form online. Here is the link: https://www.lunchapplication.com/
The morning doors will open at 7:50 for all students. All students will report directly to their classroom. Breakfast will be served in the classrooms this year. Please note teachers arrive at 7:45, so early entrance to the building is not feasible for safety reasons. Please have a plan that allows you to drop off your child right around 7:50. At 8:00 all students much be in their classroom seats in order to be counted as "on time".
All students will have lunch and recess again this year. Some students will have recess before they eat lunch and some students will have recess after they eat lunch. Each child selecting to get lunch from the cafeteria will be provided a the hot item and then will choose and serve their own sides according to the meal plan.
Students who pack lunch should be able to open all items packed individually. With the number of students and staff ratio it is important that the adults monitor for safety and building positive relationships as opposed to being servers.

Where Do I Drop Off/Pick Up and What Time?
Students can be dropped of at 7:45. The building doors will unlock at 7:50. Please understand the staff does not arrive until 7:45 - so there are not staff members on duty to monitor students.
Dismissal process will begin within classrooms to close out the day. Car rider dismissal will begin between 2:55 and 3:00.
Most staff leave the building at 3:15. It will be important that you pick your child up in a timely fashion each day. We recognize emergencies occur but they should be the exception, not the rule. Please have a back up plan in place in case something should keep you from arriving to school at the set time.
We ask that you keep a consistent routine as possible as the students become familiar with their new setting. We find that multiple changes to pick routines cause much confusion for the students and adults. We all want to know that every child is home safe each evening - it's our daily goal!
FIRST DAY
We will be asking that parents say their daily good-byes, take photos, and give hugs outside of the building. We will have staff available to direct all student traffic to the correct location.
Please note: because goodbyes will be outside of the building please bring all supplies to the Open House for drop off.
- Enter the building either through the car riders doors or bus rider doors depending on how you arrive to school
- Students in grades 4 & 5 will go up the main stairs to the third floor (4th is on the left, 5th is on the right)
- Students in grades 2 & 3 will go directly to their classrooms on the mail level (2nd is on the right, 3rd is on the left)
- Students in 1st grade will go down the steps in the library and turn left in their hallway
8/22/18 - All grades KDG-5
- KDG on the first day will meet in the gym, where their teachers will be. They will then be escorted down to their classrooms using the library steps
Food Allergies
Lunch room: We will have a Peanut Free Table. This table will be cleaned with separate cleaning supplies that have not touched other tables. No children will be able to sit at this table with any lunch items that contain nuts or were made in a factory that contains nuts. Students who require this table will be able to invite a friend to sit with them, and they may, as long as they have not packed or purchased any items that would be harmful.
Classroom: Please see the Safe Treats List provided in the link under Celebrations and on our website!
Celebrations
If parents would like to send in a small treat please feel free to do so following the guidelines below. Teachers will either share the items at an available time during the day or if no time is limited teachers will send the items home in each child's book bag.
- Individually wrapped items bought at the store with an ingredient list; with no traces of Nuts (see this link for ideas) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zYOFbCBykIGdeTkM8D42iwPKA7gJHe3k/view?usp=sharing
- Pencils,
- NO Cupcakes
- No gifts, balloons, or flowers can be delivered
By no means do we want to minimize the joy that birthday's bring children, but we do want and need to honor the fact that not all celebrate these items, not all can celebrate, and we need to spend the a majority of each day learning (which is fun too)!
