Families can call their hotline at 405-522-5050 if they have any questions. Also realize that DHS said they are experiencing a very high call volume right now.
All OKCPS families are eligible for this program since we are a CEP district. Families will either receive a P-EBT card in the mail or will receive additional funds on their EBT card if they are already receiving SNAP benefits.
OK Caring Van
The Oklahoma Caring Van is scheduled to come out to JMMES on October 5th from 10am to 2pm. No appointments needed, students can just walk up to the van with their guardians. All vaccines will be done in the van so there is no need to enter the school. We are targeting all 6th graders(rising 7th graders), Tdap and flu shots. However the van has all vaccines. This is a free service, so take advantage of the opportunity. Please click on the links below for the consent forms and Immunization questionnaire. You will need both completed in order to access the services. And no student will be seen without their guardian present.
Virtual School Information
Welcome to JMMES Virtual School. Following you will find information to help familiarize you and your student(s) with Virtual Learning at JMMES. Starting off, students will log into their first Virtual Course through Canvas at 9:10 am daily on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Each virtual course is approximately 35 minutes long with a sixteen-minute break at the end of each course. Students will attend seven online courses a day on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday according to their printed school schedule. The day end will officially end with the last course of the day at approximately 4:00 pm.
Students will not attend courses on Wednesdays. Wednesdays have been designed for Teacher Office Hours where you or your student(s) can make appointments with their teachers to check-in and/or seek assistance from their teachers. Wednesdays will also be used to provide student interventions and personal tutoring for students who may need additional support.
Below, please see an example of a student schedule so that you can review this with your student.

Recording Attendance for 2020-21
There are changes as to how student attendance record keeping will occur in 2020-21. Teachers will continue to post attendance regardless of whether the student receives instruction in a traditional or a remote setting (virtual and E3). Teachers will check “PARTICIPATION” on the child’s record in Infinite Campus Gradebook. If a child is not marked present, the student is absent. Teachers can go back and mark participation for previous days if students complete all course work as expected. Please put an “e1” in the comment section on the date you first make contact with the student.
Teachers will record student attendance each day. At the Secondary level attendance will be recorded in each class period. Elementary teachers that have a morning and an afternoon class will need to take attendance twice a day.
A student may be counted present if at least one of the following is true for the day or for the class period.
The student has participated in face-to-face remote instruction.
The student has been on Canvas to submit an assignment, participate in a task, watch an assigned video, participate in class discussion or any other educational activities assigned by the teachers.
The student has responded to an email, call, or text message from the teacher.
The student is caught up on work for the day.
The parent or student has contacted the teacher or the school office to report a technical issue that is keeping the student from accessing lessons and assignments.
Attendance can be adjusted at the end of each week if the student was not marked present but later meets daily class attendance requirements. If a student is present on Monday and Tuesday, count the student present on Wednesday. If a student has not been present on Monday OR Tuesday, simply do not check the PARTICIPATION button for Wednesday.
