Montessori Update
Check out what we've been up to!
September
I want to welcome everyone to another fantastic school year. Your children are "normalizing" a Montessori term that means developing their independence and concentration. We believe that if we put the right material in front of them, children can become an engrossed in what they are doing and develop a high level of focus and concentration. As we have completed 3 weeks now, you may notice your child wanting to be more independent. Children will enjoy walking to the classroom by themselves, getting dressed by themselves, or assert themselves in what they choose to eat (or not eat). We encourage this at Steele Montessori even if its hard for us as adults. I have enjoyed getting to know all our new students and am falling in love with all of them!
Sincerely,
Laura Christenberry- Principal
First Day!
Students were excited to return on our first day back at school!
Outdoor Adventure Class
Our coach has started a new Outdoor Adventure Class for all of our 3rd graders. They meet every Friday and learn outdoor skills along with leadership. Last Friday, our students made Kindness Rocks to put around San Antonio.
Mindfulness Class
Another class that we have put into the rotation is our Mindfulness Class taught by our Assistant Principal and Counselor. Lower Elementary students will receive this class every month and will learn calming strategies, growth mindset, and will work on service projects.

All parents are invited and encouraged to attend this first First Thursday as we will be going over the system we use to track student progress, Transparent Classroom. We will be showing you how to log onto the system, what you will be able to see, and what you can expect on this system. Childcare will be provided.
Please RSVP to this event so we can make sure we can have some extra computers available. If you would like to bring your own device to this event, you are welcome to do that as well.
