It's Almost Summer!

Dear Parents,

It's been a super busy time for us here, in 5th grade, for the last couple of months! Our State Testing went very well! Students have given us very positive feedback of how they felt they did on their tests. The 5th Grade Field Trip was a HUGE success! So much so that we want to plan to have the Camp DaKaNi as our Go To place! We even received a THANK YOU note from the counselors at the camp! They were amazed at how polite and easy to work with, our students were! Yea for RDE 5th Graders! This has been a wonderful group of students! Now we have turned our attention toward the end of the year! We are working on the 5th Grade Recognition ceremony as I type this. Please see more information below!

As the year comes to a quick close....Ms. Godwin, Ms. Thele and myself...Mrs. McKasson, would like to say Thank Your for all the great things you have done for us this year! Especially your wonderful kiddos! You are raising some awesome young adults! They all seem ready for their transition into Middle School! Keep doing what you are doing! Thank you to all parents that were able to help out with our class parties, and our field trip! We appreciate you so much! Thank you to parents who were so caring and giving to provide our classes with supplies that we needed...whether it was snacks for testing or supplies for the students to use in class! Thanks for coming to the Parent Viewing of the "Changing Video"....It is so great to see parents eager to know what is going on with their students lives! THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU!

Our wish to everyone, as we say GOOD BYE, is to have a wonderful, carefree and safe summer....Take some fun trips to introduce your students to the great state of OKlahoma and Give your sweeties a hug for us every once in a while....we will truly miss them!

Have a Wonderful Summer and Come See Us Next Year!!

Love.....Ms. Godwin, Ms. Thele and Mrs. McKasson

5th Grade Recognition!

Our 5th Grade Recognition ceremony will be held next Tuesday, May 21st. Your student brought home invitations regarding the ceremony this week. The Recognition will begin at 9:00 in the cafeteria. We would like our students to dress for the occasion. Just Pretty or Handsome looking for some great pictures! Classes will be presented and walk down an aisle as we begin. They will come across the stage to receive their Completion Certificate. Awards will be given by different teachers for accomplishments and we will have a slideshow to remember this great year! Please join us for this memorable event and share a reception with us in the library afterwards! Hope to see you there! Be ready to take lots of pictures!.....And bring some tissues! You'll need them!

5th Grade Water Day!

The afternoon of the May 21st will be filled with WATER! It is our tradition of the last several years to provide the 5th graders with some All Out Crazy Fun!...after all their hard work in elementary school and final state testing times.....and just get WET! We will have several activities that include water, like water balloons and sponge toss. Students will be treated to a snack party afterwards with sub sandwiches and cookies. We would love to have parents come and help out if possible. This is always an awesome funnnnn day!!

We'd also like to have students bring a towel and some extra clothes to change into afterward. It does get too cool inside while they wait for dismissal. Bring a plastic sack too to store wet clothes in.

PTO 5th Grade Dance

Our Wonderful PTO will be giving the 5th graders a great send off! The dance will be on the evening of Tuesday, May 21st from 4:30 - 6:30, in the cafeteria! This will be a celebration for them to dance and have fun with their friends! PTO will provide music, treats and decorations for the fun time! Parents must sign a permission slip for their student to attend. Permission slips have been sent home last week and are due before they can come. Parents are responsible to pick students up promptly at 6:30. Parents are welcome to attend and take some great pictures! This is not a "Date" Dance. We will just have fun with friends. If you have any question, please contact, Bunmi @ 405-537-8719.
