BECS Parent Newsletter
April 29. 2022
Dear Bromley Families
We have officially concluded CMAS testing and are entering our final month of school! We have many fun events planned for students at school that will be communicated by your child’s teacher and the Parent Newsletter. Please be sure to check your email and update the office with any changes to your contact information.
To help ensure a positive end to the school year, it is helpful for families to remain in good communication with their child’s teacher(s), regularly check Infinite Campus, and maintain home routines to support your child’s success.
Finally, next week is Staff Appreciation Week. BECS PTO and Administration have some fun plans to celebrate the hard work of our staff. If you would like to share your appreciation with a staff member, this is a great time to do so!
Have a great weekend!

5th Grade Heading on to Middle School
We are looking forward to supporting you and your child with the transition to 6th grade! We recognize that while students remain in the same building, they encounter several major changes when transitioning to middle school such as having six teachers per day, having a locker, managing their organization, and engaging with numerous different groups of peers along with all of their physical and emotional changes. Below are some answers to a few of the questions you may have regarding your student going into 6th grade.
8th Grade End of Year Activities

Edukits–Making life easier by ordering early!

Elementary Leadership Class
We would like to introduce you to Ms. Heather Line who is our Elementary Interim Leadership Teacher. She has already been doing some fun and engaging activities with her class. She has a special message to share with you.
So far they have learned how to synergize (work together) to create treehouses and trees. The Leader in Me program teaches 8 habits to instill positive self-esteem, kindness towards others, and a can-do mindset to prepare them for the future. I take great pride in knowing that I am helping your child grow into the leader they are designed to be! All of them are unique and have so much to offer for our future! Thank you for entrusting your children to me.

Executive Director Search Process Update from Board President, Therese Marrugo
This past Monday we interviewed a candidate for Bromley's executive director position. I first want to thank everyone who participated either by submitting questions and/or attending the meet-and-greet.
Taking into account all stakeholder feedback on this candidate, the consensus was that the candidate is not the right fit for Bromley. This highlights that teachers, parents, the search committee, and the board know what they are looking for in the next executive director, see the importance of finding the right person for the school and our students, and value putting in the time to find her or him.
The search committee and board agreed to continue the search and accept applications through May 13, 2022, with the goal of having in-person interviews for additional qualified candidates the following week. We encourage you to attend the meet-and-greet with candidates and try to schedule those at times that are most convenient for parents. That said, we realize that there is no single time that works for all parents, but we always work to ensure parents can participate in areas that are most important to them and want to hear your feedback.
As always, we will continue to keep you up-to-date on the search as well as additional opportunities to participate and be involved.
Lost and Found
We are overflowing with lost items. Please ask your student to check for any items they may be missing.
Medication Pick Up
May 27th from 12:30 pm-3:30 pm Ms. Vanessa will be on site for you to pick up your students' medication before the building closes for the summer. Should you have any questions please reach out to Ms. Vanessa at vromero@bromleyeastcs.org
Modified Dress Days
Have you ever wondered where the money goes on $1 Modified Dress days? These are great opportunities for student groups/clubs to do fundraisers for their activities, to purchase supplies for the BECS Bucks Store, Positive Student Behavior Incentives, and so much more. Thank you for your support!
Pastries with the Principals
Would you like to hear more about what is happening at BECS? On May 6th from 8:45 am-9:30 am our two amazing Principals will be offering up some yummy pastries and time to chat. Each month there is a different topic covered. Please RSVP using this LINK so we know how many treats to provide. Hope to see you there!
Next PTO Meeting is May 5th at 6pm
Staff Appreciation Week
May 2 - 6 is Staff Appreciation Week. The PTO and BECS Administration has planned a variety of ways to honor our staff through positive notes, treats, and lunch. We welcome parents to show their appreciation to staff as well!
