A Note from Mrs. Stefanich
Hello Park Families,
As I've shared before, we have a "Word of the Week" at Park each week. It is displayed in a couple places in the hallway, and in the office. When I make my Growth Mindset announcement each Monday, I also share and define our Word of the Week for our school. I always challenge our students to try to use this word in their classrooms or at home that week. This week, our word is mend. To mend means to repair something that is broken or damaged. One of my favorite moments this week was when I spent some time in second grade. One of the students casually came up to me to tell me that her snow pants had a rip in them. She then gave me a sweet and sly smile and added, "so my mom is going to mend them for me." I was so proud of her for trying out the vocabulary word, and you could see how proud she was to say it to me as well! Parents, I challenge you to try to use the word mend this weekend and see if your child can define it for you, or use it themselves!
Warmly,
Mrs. Stefanich
Recent Words of the Week
Include - to make something a part of something else
Arrange - to put in a neat, attractive, or required order; to organize or make plans for a future event

School Breakfast and Lunch Information
Breakfast and Hot Lunch are available everyday to all students. This year, school lunches are once again free to our students! This is such wonderful news and we look forward to feeding your children each day! Of course, you can still pack a lunch for your child if you prefer. (As a reminder, hot lunch is only free if your child takes a fruit or vegetable on their tray. Please remind them they have to *at least* put it on their tray for the lunch to be free.)
New! Family Portal: https://familyportal.cloud
- Apply for Free and Reduced Price Meal benefits! If you are wondering if you would qualify, here are the Income Guidelines. Free and Reduced Meal Benefits are based on household size, income amount (gross), and income frequency. We encourage all families to apply, even though school lunches are free. Applying is confidential, and provides our school with additional supports for students.
- You will need to register a new account to monitor accounts or deposit online; Send Money to School accounts no longer exist.
- Regardless of benefits status, Milk-only purchases remain at $0.50 per carton. Milk is included as part of the whole MEAL benefit. However, if all your child wants is a carton of milk, their account will be charged 50 cents.
