Pan Mass Challenge Fundraiser

Why Vikki Ride's

About 3 years ago, a friend's 12-yr old son was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer, Rhabdomyosarcoma, where tumors develop in the muscles connected to the bone. Michael Eden lost his battle in May, 2012 at the age of 15.

Michael was a very strong young man and had so much to give. He was not finished here. In fact, on the very day of his funeral, his Mom received news from the US Navy that he had been made an Honorary Navy Seal. This distinction is not given out without a tremendous amount of dignity, strength and valor which Michael exhibited always. He was buried with this honor.

I have spent most of my professional life in the science field with cancer at the epicenter, but this drove the issue close to home. I now understand the impact that the charitable contributions we have made (or solicited) can have on real people.

I know that Michael's fight was not in vain and he will always be remembered for his diligent efforts in school, in sports and in his treatment but I wanted to help do my part with my personal commitment to fight cancer by participating in the 2012 Pan Mass Challenge. This event is a 2 day, 190 mile ride to raise money for cancer research. The PMC raises more money than any single event in America and 100% of every donation goes to the charity. My personal goal is to raise $5,000. We all receive charitable donation requests but you should know that it does make a difference. People’s lives have been enriched and enhanced by the funds you give to help others.

This will be Vikki's 3rd ride of the Pan Mass Challenge. She trains tirelessly through weather, pain and fatigue all for this amazing cause. Please come out and join us for an evening of shopping and fun to raise money for the PMC and help fight cancer!
